Ferdinand tops stats

Rio Ferdinand was the best defender in the Premiership in September according to the Opta Index.

Apparently 90% of his tackles were successful and he committed just two fouls in five games. What's more 80% of his passes were completed.

:D

that´s great.
Though I used Opta stats to show some people here that becks had a good last season (he was in the opta team of the year again), but some people here use to say stats mean nothing. Greetings to murt and co. <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

I used to use Opta stats to show that Phil Babb was the best passer in the league when he played for us..

Then someone said they can be a bit misleading...he may have been onto something

;)

I remember a certain Argie on top of most of the stats lists after the first PL month...
However, I think Rio has settled in very nicely which would have been superb if only the rest of the team had settled in as fast.

Babb hardly played. even you could do 4 passes out of 5.
