See some good reviews from last nights game.. I dont know anything about him.. whats the score does he look like a long term prospect?

quality player, and i rate him to make it.
whats sets him apart from other flair players is his workrate, i think eric harrison got it bang on when he described him as being "brave as a lion"...
his pro's are his wonderful (and natural) dribbling technique, VERY pacey, he can finish with either foot, good in the air for a small lad, and has a penchant for the spectacular, great attitude and workrate
his cons are that he's very weak, and sometimes he likes to go into hero mode...

Yep Fabian is the best prospect in the u18s in my view.... whether he'll make it at United is another matter though

His football brain is not the best, neither is his first touch at times. He's very direct and all about pace and running at players but I can't see him making it at United if I'm honest.

Brandy looks like a good prospect, his finishing is suspect mind and I am not sure he will make it.

I'd like to see how Welbeck progresses next year.

skillfull team player and a very good work rate, his finishing might be a bit suspect at times but he scored a good goal against porto in champions youth cup

Would seem to me to have all the talent to be a top class winger.

That's what I've been thinking. His size will probably force him out on the flanks sooner or later, but I'm sure he'd thrive there.

Has he finished his loan/back with the reserves? I think it ended 1st Jan, how did he do?

Didn't get a great deal of first-team action (just like last season...), was OK in the small cameos he got.

No starts, but 14 substitutions in the Championship says it all - although he got 2 starts 2 substitutions in the League Cup.

No idea why he went back there. Would it have been any different this time round?

Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez admits he's unsure if he will be able to extend the loan of Manchester United winger Febian Brandy.

"We might have to reassess if Febian doesn't stay. But he is here for two more weeks and, after that, it will depend on what Manchester United want to do," said Martinez.

From Tribalfootball so I don't know when this story came out but it was dated 06.01.09

Was by far United's outstanding player in the Youth Cup Final in my opinion (not many that made a good impression), although his finishing was poor. Would seem to me to have all the talent to be a top class winger.

Agree with this, and if anyone saw the tournament we won last season in Asia he was one of our best players although so was michael barnes!!!!

He has not done much at Swansea at all. Only substitute appearances in the league and no goals. To be honest I think he would have to be doing a lot better even at this age for me to have serious hopes that he will be able to become a first team player at United in the future.

I can't believe how his progress sort of just ground to a halt after that impressive game in the Youth Final.

It is baffling how he went back to Swansea, especially as Martinez seems to favor playing a 4-5-1.

I think he needs to be brought back and sent out to a club where he is going to play. Lets face it he isn't getting any younger!

It was friggin' madness. I said so at the time and so did a lot of others.

Loaning him out elsewhere would be a good idea.
Personally I doubt it. He needs to comeback to OT to remind the powers that be of his talent. If he went on a another unsuccessful stint IMO it could be curtains for him. At OT he can re establish himself as the bright prospect he was before this terrible loan spell. He is young enough and IMO talented enough.

Never understood why he went back to Swansea after unsuccessfully breaking into the first-team - why would it be any easier after they got promoted?
Spot on.

Swansea wanted him back and Roberto Martinez plays football the right way. It is a shame he has not had a run of games to prove himself, he is the sort of player who style is more premiership than championship.

Anyway Now what is done is done hopefully he doesn't sign on for the rest of the season.. I honestly think he could still yet learn more by staying here for the rest of the season and then go out on loan next season..

The point is - after last season - it was fairly easy to predict he wouldn't get a lot of playing time. Martinez did not trust him in a high flying League One side. Febian's physical stature being what it is - how on earth was he gonna get regular starts this season?

All i was saying that the loan possibilities for a player like brandy are fewer because of the type of football played at most clubs including many PL sides ......... Both Eagles and Rossi struggled for games when on loan but have looked good playing in footballing sides ........Shawcross, Cathcart and Tom Heaton all played regularly because the style of football was much less important to them.

Now its on Sky.. I hope he remains here for the rest of the season..

Manchester United have recalled striker Febian Brandy from his loan spell at Swansea City.

The 19-year-old secured a second loan move to the Liberty Stadium last summer, and recorded 14 Championship appearances for the Swans this season.

Brandy's deal was due to expire on Saturday but the Red Devils have opted to recall him early.

The diminutive forward will now be unavailable for Swansea's FA Cup third round tie at Histon on Tuesday evening.

any idea why we recalled him early ? just before the game against histon

Well he hasn't played so there was no harm in recalling him early, he can sit in our reserve team and play with better players in training. Other wise he could feature as a sub against Spurs, but I doubt that very much.

At the end of the day Swansea were not going to renew any loan deal and any decent progression for this has been lost since his season and a half of very little football on loan to them!

Oh, Swansea would have jumped at loaning him back again - they took him this season, after all.

However, I'd imagine that we wouldn't accept it.

Now why aren't City offering him a couple of hundred million too?

Apparently he's training with Preston after a similar spell with Leicester. Hopefully he gets himself a club soon

BRANDY TRAINING WITH PRESTON | Football Transfer News, Football News, Fixtures, Results, Match Reports, Stats

Preston boss Phil Brown has revealed that striker Febian Brandy has been training at Deepdale following his departure from Manchester United.

Brandy is without a club after being released by the Red Devils and is currently stepping up his recovery from injury with North End physio Mick Rathbone.

Brown told PNE Player: "'Basil' brought it to my attention that Febian had been training with him on a three or four-week basis.

"He had been to Leicester on a trial period, but Leicester had five, six or seven strikers to choose from. Obviously there was no room for him there.

"I need to speak to his agent and we will see where that takes us."

Ince has signed him for Notts County for the rest of the season on the recommendation of SAF, hopefully he does well there, good little player.

Magpies nip in for Brandy | Sky Sports | Football | Transfer Centre | Possible Deal

Notts County manager Paul Ince has confirmed a deal has been agreed to sign former Manchester United striker Febian Brandy for the rest of the season.

Brandy has been looking for a club since leaving United last summer and he has recently been training with Championship strugglers Preston North End.

However, the 22-year-old has now accepted a move to Meadow Lane after Ince received a favourable report from United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

"He's the quick striker I've been looking for," said Ince in the Nottingham Evening Post.

"He's been at Preston for the last few weeks, but we steamed in there and have got a deal signed.

"It's a chance for him. We've given him a platform to come in and score goals and show what he can do, with a view to a permanent deal here.

"I spoke to Sir Alex about him because he was at Man Utd and he told me he's a good player.

"He was very highly rated at Man Utd and played for England at Under 17, 18 and 19s, so he will be good for us. He has probably lost his way, but he's got potential and a lot of ability."

Hard to believe it's taken him this long to get a club (although I think he's been injured for a bit), good to see though.

The fact he never grew an inch after his 12th birthdays a real shame. Hopefully he achieves good things because he had ability and was always a threat
