The New Northern Premier League season starts this weekend and FC United start with a trip to Morpeth before back to back home games against Worksop Town and Ilkeston Town next week.

FC United will be looking to have a much better season than last season where they lost far too many games finishing well below the playoff spots and have tried to strengthen the squad as much as possible this summer including in attack where they have brought in former Premier League striker Adam Le Fondre who agreed to join the club after bumping in to FC United manager Neil Reynolds at the wedding of current FC United captain Charlie Ennis.

Didn't know Le Fondre was still going. Very fond memories of his time at Rotherham. Quality player.

Bit of an exaggeration to call him a former premier league striker. He’s been a journeyman across lower divisions, Scotland etc.

Plus he’s 37 now

No it isnt, he played in the Premier League for Reading therefore it is correct to call him a forner Premier League striker

He scored 12 goals in one PL season. Which is also the most Peter Crouch ever managed, I believe.

Half time and FC United trail by a goal to nil, they wernt too bad in the first half but improvement definately needed in the 2nd.
