Sky accomplished a masterpiece of marketing for the buildup to the first PL season. As a kid, I'd watched the old Division 1, but the PL felt somehow bigger, grander.

This intro is seared into my memory.

I was gonna go for this one on the strength of Des Lynam alone, but then he went and said ‘premiership’ and I became flaccid. When I think about it I always hated the highlights on itv. Just seemed wrong somehow.
I also have an irrational dislike of moloko so that’s out too.
