Gauntlet was fecking ace with 4 people! Pitty the remakes were shite as hell though.

'95, I remember the one at my local bowling alley, that thing must have made an absolute fortune.

Double Dragon co-op was brilliant

1942 and Outrun were great too.

The Leisureplex in Coolock used to have New Zealand Story when I was a kid. I mean, it may still have it, seeing as I haven't been there since I was a kid, but I doubt it.

New Zealand Story is ace.

Anyone remember the name of that game where it used to be co-op one person driving and shooting with the other just shooting, like a Lethal Weapon type ripoff.

A lot of my favourites have already been mentioned, especially the likes of Final Fight (which I now have on PS3 with HD graphics) Street Fighter, Out Run, 1942 etc.

Back in the 80's/early 90's Arcade Games were far superior graphically to any affordable console game. I remember looking at Streetfighter 2 in awe at how amazing the graphics were.
I say affordable because the Neo Geo system was as good, but from memory it wasn't officially available in Europe and the games were sold in triple figure prices.
Some other games I remember fondly are:

Star Wars

Does anybody remember Time Traveller? It had a cool hologram effect. I remember standing in queues watching people play it, but I don't recall playing it myself. It looked amazing at the time.

I'd completely forgotten about Afterburner, that was quality!
