I'm sure a couple of other cafe members will remember her. One of the original Charlies Angels, a very attractive and glamourous woman.
Terrible disease and terribly hard for her family to watch her go through it.![]()
Ryan O'Neal, the long-term love of actress Farrah Fawcett, has told how the 1970s icon is bedridden with cancer and has lost her famous blonde tresses.
One of the original Charlie's Angels, Fawcett has been suffering from cancer for several years and she is very ill.
"It's a love story. I just don't know how to play this one. I won't know this world without her," O'Neal, 68, told People magazine. "Cancer is an insidious enemy."
The actress has suffered with bowel cancer for several years but the condition has now spread through her body.
"She stays in bed now," O'Neal said. "The doctors see that she is comfortable. Farrah is on IVs, but some of that is for nourishment. The treatment has pretty much ended."
The actress travelled to Germany to undergo intensive treatment two years ago and at one time it seemed as though she was in remission - but the cancer soon returned.
Now, she is visited at home by close friends, including fellow Charlie's Angels stars Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson and she watches TV when she feels well enough.
Her son, Redmond, has recently been in trouble over drugs - but O'Neal made it clear to the magazine that he keeps bad news from her.
"Farrah doesn't know Redmond's in trouble," said the actor, who has been Fawcett's off-and-on-love for many years.
"And Redmond is terrified for his mother. 'I don't want to be in jail and have some guard tell me she is gone,' he said to me.
"I told him, 'She's rebounding.' I lied to him. I lie to her. It's the best thing."
Redmond, meanwhile, is shortly to be transferred to a clinic for rehab.
As for Fawcett's famous blonde tresses - they are gone. But that has not worried her, O'Neal said.
