In that sort of range, but it depends. RRP dollars, it will go from $399 to $299, I expect the same for the Euro. Pounds, maybe 230?

Well I'm in euros but I only read £100 but obviously conversion rates change.

Well, that's the problem isn't it? It shouldn't be annoying. It's one of the reasons I've not got one, and a lot of it is down to a matter of principle. No company in history has ever done what Microsoft has done here and seemingly got away with it scott free. For some reason people just accept it and carry on, some going through the process multiple times. Some even getting fed up with sending it back and running out to buy a new one!
Yes, as Peter Moore infamously said "things break", yes they do, and if you sold 20 million boxes, 1 million going belly up would be at the top of the range of what is acceptable. It wasn't 1 million though, it was probably almost 8 million and counting. Imagine if Ford or whoever had done something similar, made 20 million cars and 8 million had to be sent back. They'd be out of business, because no cnut in their right mind would ever buy a Ford car again. Yet, there they were at E3, Microsoft executives prancing about strutting their stuff, smug as hell. The trouble is, they released that console knowing full well it had a serious flaw in it.

Why wouldn't they be smug? They just successfully ripped off millions and millions of people! 
Hmm, a price drop may tempt me to buy a PS3. My PS2 broke about 4 years ago and I have not had a console since. It's probably a love affair I should rekindle.
I haven't had a console since PS2, but thought about buying a PS3 recently, for Metal Gear Solid. Good news if there's a price cut coming

No. One of the early models had a chip or something that meant that you could but no longer. The cheapest option is to keep (or buy) a PS2. My son bought one a few months ago second hand for about 25 quid because the games are now so cheap.
