FAO those residing in Canada..

^^
Watching as many movies, tv shows as you can for a monthly one time fee is something I have craved for for a long time....especially after Rapidshare's new silly system was introduced....

Netflix is great, I've been using it for about 7-8 years now, we pay $17pm, DVDs/blueray arrive in the mail then you send back in the prepaid envelope, you organize your movie queue online, all you have to do is watch the movies then drop them in the mail box, you can keep them for as long or as little time as you want, no late fees or none of that nonsense its about as trouble free as you could hope for

Yes sir!

Difference?

The last time I checked you didn't get Movies and TV Shows legally for free from Torrents etc. So the difference for many people with Netflix is that this is a cheap(ish) legal way to enjoy said movies and TV Shows.

Thats what I meant by difference :)

You watch a movie, I watch a movie.

You see no subpoenas. I see no subpoenas (I hope I haven't tempted fate here).

I get them way, way, WAY, faster than you.

I don't have to return them.

I don't have to pay for them.

Well?

If this is a comparison to Net Flix..I agree..

If this is a comparison to Rapidshare/megaupload etc..I disagree....

What speeds do you get with RS/MU?

The maximum allowable possible speed from my ISP plan..
i.e usually download at 1.2 MBPS or slightly more..

I am sure one can get that for torrents as well, but only popular torrents or ones with good seeds.. And that is my problem with torrents. The reliance on others to seed.

If I want to download an episode aired back in the year 2001 from the TV Show Ed, which wasn't that popular, going to find it really difficult to get seeds for it..

With Rapidshare/Megaupload, I don't need to rely on any seeds or anyone to provide me with good speed. RS/MU does that for me..

Well, you need to be on the right websites for that. I'm on BitMeTV, What.CD, and TorrentLeech (amongst many other websites). And I get speeds of 6MBps+ on these websites.

For example, I woke up about an hour ago, I brushed, and made omelets. What do I have when I come back?

The.Matrix.Trilogy.HDDVD.1080p.DTS.VC1.Remux-EuReKA 17.0 GB

And how many shows do you have on RS? I doubt there is any show which is not on BitMeTV, or any song which is not on What.CD.

And don't you have to pay for RS?

All the three methods to obtain a movie/etc have their pros and cons. I like torrents because I know where to look, and it's free. You like RS/MU because you don't need any seeds for that. Some like to pay to get movies because of the legal reasons. Just choose whichever is best suited. :)

I do have to pay for RS, but its worth the convenience..

in all seriousness, would you think you might have the Torrent (a fast one)..for all the 4 seasons of the TV Show Ed?

?

Brilliant, that indeed is the show!

But.
Are those good enough seeds for a good download rate though?..

I am asking as I have no idea what sort of speeds those 6 seeds would be providing?

I used to prefer megaupload/rapidshare much better than torrents to be honest, the reliance on seeds can be an annoyance sometimes, and pretty much everything(and more) you see on torrents has been dropped on any of katz/warezbb/other forums at the same time anyway, but you simply don't have to wait for seeds and shit.

Can't believe bitmetv is still going though, my account with them most of been pruned like 5 years ago, like around the same time as I stopped using oink and cinematik and they've both been closed I think.

This is all past tense to me though, since I actually have money now -_-
