Where will you go to in Vietnam? Hanoi? HCMC? Sure we have most of United games on ESPN or StarSport. It's everywhere in the hotels, bars, etc. What're you gonna do in Vietnam BTW?

Casinos are not allowed in Vietnam. Well, at least in principal. And I don't gamble, as a matter of fact, my mate. BTW, Do you frequent the redlight areas overthere?

You can catch all the live EPL matches via ESPN and Star Sports in any SEA country (just check out the bars and hotels).

hmm.. i think it's more aimed towards tourists if you ask me.. the drinks, the shows, the women,.. all overpriced..
There's a small street in there (next to Patpong) that i used to go quite often though.. it's a hangout place for a lot of local foreigners, and international students..

Flying into Hanoi. spend the first couple of nights there. plan is then to travel down overland to HCMC for some time there. Then journey onwards to Cambodia,Laos,Thailand,Malaysia and finally Singapore. As youve probably guessed by now im going to do the touristy thing. really looking forward to it. That is if i get my visa application back on time..panick stations..
Got my first nights hotel booked in Hani. arrive in the airport at 7:30pm so with any luck might catch the 2nd half of the match at the hotel.
cheers lads.

There might be some problem..Match is live on
ESPN or STAR SPORTS But sometimes cricket gets
preference..Here in India its deferred live(only
sometimes).
Live EPL matches will be telecasted on
selected countries(Singapore,Malaysia...).

KL, visit the Twin Towers then.
You should definately try Pulau Langkawi, an island. Great place for sun and relaxing or if you prefer a more seclude area then try Tioman Island. If you like jungle trekking then visit Taman Negara.
Anyway, Chinese New Year is approaching (beginning of next month) therefore I'm afraid you have to book early (to avoid any dissapointment), and most shops will be packed with ppl either in kl or singapore.

GB, which hotel will you stay in Hanoi? Any 3+ stars will have ESPN for you. Chelsea game starts at 8pm Hanoi time so I think I'll be fine for the second half. And I am based in Hanoi, BTW.

staying the first night in the Anh Doa hotel on May Mai (not sure i spelt those right)
No idea what its like, was booked over the internet but it seemed nice. I hope to stay in Hanoi for a couple of days so maybe i might get the chance to get out for a drink with a fellow red. that is if youre not up to anything else.
are you from Vietnam or just working/living out there?

CNY is for 15 days from Feb 1st I think. So Malaysia will be back to the usual hustle and bustle by the time you get there.
Enjoy yourself GB.

Can't recognize either the name of the hotel and the place/street :-) I'm native, born and raised in Hanoi. Wouldn't mind a chance to get out for a drink. Call me when you're in. Ha @ (091) 309-6140

i'm an indian born in Thailand. my greatgrandparents moved here in 1950.
I wish I could help you there with your friend "Arm", but there are 70,000,000 people living in Thailand, about 10,000,000 in Bangkok alone, so it's not very likely i know that same Arm...
I work in my dad's company.. we manufacture Sterling Silver 925 Jewelry for export..
what do you do in Vietnam? which city are you in?

I know it sounds a bit silly to ask you about an "Arm" in a 10M-people city ;-) Just feel you're a bit like him, one of my former classmates. And he's a Red too. I am in Hanoi. Working for a small merchant bank. The jewelry thing sounds very interesting. Do you export it to Vietnam?
