Know anything about him ?

Manchester United are tracking Norwegian Under-19 star Martin Wiig. According to his club, Norwegian Tippeligaen side Odd Grenland, United had two scouts watching their 18-year-old striker in Thursday night's 4-2 victory over Sogndal and United will follow him in more matches to come, both for Odd and the Norway Under-19 side. The United representatives had to wait over an hour to get a glimpse of the player rated by many in Norway as one of the biggest talents in the country for years. Wiig came on as a substitute and scored Odd's fourth goal.

Yeah, know a bit about him..

He was born 1983, is 1.83 tall.

Made his league debut last season and went on to score 3 goals in 9 games during the season, mostly as a sub.

So far this season he has played 8 games and scored 2 goals, mainly coming on as a sub as well.

His U-16 record for Norway: 2 goals in 6 matches
His U-17 record is: 1 goal in 6 matches
He has 2 U-18 caps and is part of the U-19 and U-21 national teams as well.

He has been hailed by Norwegian national team coach Semb as the biggest talent in Norway, as well as by other coaches.

Despite only being 18, he is quite mature for his age. His role for Odd Grenland is as a CFWD in a 3 man attack. He is quite a diverse striker and possesses many skills. A natural born striker, fast, strong, good in the air, clever, oppertunist when he needs to be. Really has anything you'd want in a striker. He's not such an elegant striker, isn't that fancy really but then again Ruud isn't as well. He makes up for that in other areas like hard work and finishing skills. A very down-to-earth lad, son of a priest and isn't really one to leave Norway too early, he has claimed he will stay in Norway until he is 21. United's interest in him is common knowledge in Norway, he is aware of the interest but he will be staying put for the time being it seems.

Well worth keeping an eye on him tho.

He says he's going to play in Norway for at least another three years.

He scored his second goal of the season on thursday despite being in a terrible mood before the match...... His bike got stolen <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> .....and his allergy problems really kicked in.....
