Freak
Born a freak always a freak.
I recently replaced my PS3 40GB hard disk with a Samsung 250Gb one. A few days after replacing, my system seems to have problems recognising discs on an on/off basis. A few days it'll load the discs normally, one day it won't.
This is what happens when it does not load the disc: I put the game disc in, the blue indicator gets lit up indicating there's a game in the system, but the cd icon does not appear in the XMB.
Usually, ejecting the disc and trying again a couple of times gets it working again. I'm don't think there's a problem with the lens because once a game loads, it plays perfectly; there's no lag, no jams or anything.
I've tried using option 3 on the Playstation recovery menu but to no avail. So my question is, does anyone know what's going on and how to solve it? Should I reformat the entire system? I do not want to send it to Sony for now because their repair charges are ridiculous.
