betty tv is an independent television production company founded in 2001 by Liz Warner, producing high quality contemporary television, engaging and popular documentaries and factual drama relevant to modern Britain and the world. It produces for Channel 4, Sky One, channel Five and BBC television .
Before starting betty tv Liz worked at Channel 4 as Commissioning Editor for contemporary factual programmes and educational programmes.
Company policy is to have an ethical approach and to respect contributors to its programmes.

Factual drama and betty
At betty tv Liz took an executive producer role on white-collar domestic violence docu-drama Falling Apart starring Hermione Norris and Mark Strong, a 1 X 90 C4 special with Century Films, which won BAFTAs for new writer and new director. At C4 Liz moved the channel into its first docu-dramas with Secrets & Lines exposing the lives of coke dealers, and Secret Britain uncovering a furtive British culture of smuggling, prostitution and witness protection.
People
Liz Warner at Channel 4: she commissioned a number of popular one offs, including Victoria's Secrets , Coked Up and Perfect Breasts . Liz was responsible for Big Brother , the first and second series along with Comic Relief Big Brother . She executive produced the Robbie Williams film for C4 Nobody Someday . As C4 education commissioner she also commissioned The Real Birth Show , Embarrassing Illnesses and Women's Bit's as well as being responsible for the series Ramsay's Boiling Point, She's Gotta Have It, Driven, Tourist Trap and Grand Designs.
Andrea Michell , has been a documentary maker and series producer at the BBC and C4 who has specialised in drama development for the past three years, working on factual drama at betty as well as factual development. Credits range from series for the BBC like Human Chemistry about how hormones affect behaviour, to Predictions a BBC series on the future, to Hidden History for the BBC telling untold stories of black British life, to various seasons of programmes for C4, to formats like long running popular BBC One series like Barking Mad on pet psychology and DIY SOS .
Dave Nath , head of popular factual at betty , previously worked at Granada as a documentary maker and executive producer, looking after ITV1 series Airline, Holiday Airport and returning marriage series: For Better For Worse; Sky One's Behaving Badly and C4's Trial format. Dave's own authored films include Cutting Edge: Brian's Story tracking a journalist's spiral into alcoholism and depression (nominated for RTS Best Documentary ). Other directing credits include The Fall of the House of Usher for C4's Cutting Edge strand, to White Van Man and The Psychic Detective for ITV1 documentary strand Real Life . Dave also produced and directed C4's Ramsay' Boiling Point for Liz Warner at C4.
