If the mods decided to intervene by closing the voting thread, can the mods clean this mess up?

I propose a proper poll in the polls section of the website, with votes that can't be retracted, and a prior announced closing and starting time that ends it.

With Slabber, Big Andy, Spoony, Weaste, and Wobbly in it.

The winner is President, second place is Vice President.

That will settle this once and for all, before Weaste, in a moment of senility, declares himself president and releases the newbies onto us all, as is a vital piece of his electoral platform.

Or you could ban Gillespie, which wouldn't solve anything, but would just feel nice.

Mods didn't do anything wrong. We all wanted the poll, locked at 10pm, so no one could edit their vote after closing.

And I've quit the election.
 
Only the caf electoral returns officer can set up the final electoral process.

Until Slabber returns, democracy and redcafe.net will not be spoken together in the same sentence.
 
Stamford Bridge and Gillespie can take over.

I think it was locked simply because the voting was ending at 10pm and slabber wasn't arounf at the time (and in any case can't close threads). The mod in question was just closing the thread and waiting for Slabber to do a count.

He still can do a count if he wants to.

He's in the mix however, I've never heard of a candidate doing the vote counting before.
