This young Romanian Ajax captain and protege has been linked with a move away from his club this summer. Fergie is said to be interested. I think this kid is as good as Mexes, he only difference is he is predorminantly left footed and can play left back as well. (where he shone in euro 2000 for Romania) Question: Is he worth Fergie's time? I think he is . You tell me what y'all think? :D

This guy is quite good...he is young and intelligent. He is also a good leader which is always useful in defense. He also is very experienced for his age.

IMO he's 5 times the defender mexes is, and is allot more mature than him.
The question is if he's worth fergie's time, its if we stand a chance at getting him.
He has already said he wants to play in Italy

Mexes is the better of the two, hes' outstanding IMO. But Chivu is certainly United material, technically he is close to Mexes, mentally looks stable, mature, consistent, good under pressure from attackers, brave though not particularily aggressive, comes forward well and has a good strike. His versatility to play LB, (though he plays CB for Ajax) is an added value with injuries and rotations.
