whered you get yer tickets from? me and my mate were gonna drive down but by the time we'd got the old credit card out..tickmaster had changed from having tickets to being all sold out (within the space of about 15 minutes!)

There'll be nothing of the sort. Tolka Park holds about 8,000 people, for their recent game against Celtic there was about 1,000 seats free, about 6,000 Celtic fans which is a sad reflection on Shelbourne's support.

IMO, 80% of the support will be United fans so Keano will get a hot reception from very few and huge support from the vast majority. Nothing he wouldn't be used to and not near as bad as what he would get from any PL game.

A few interesting facts though. Shelbourne actually lost money on their last friendly game against Celtic. Celtic's match fee was in the region of €250,000! United's fee will be at least that. Shelbourne in order to play this game have had another league game postponed. The ticket prices are more expensive than the Celtic prices so if they break even over the two games they'll be lucky IMO.

IMO the larger clubs should help out the not so lucky ones during pre-season by NOT asking for match fees. Would be a nice touch

From the reports I've heard, United are bringing a full squad with them to the match. It would make a change as their previous few games here, they've only really given a run out to the secondary squad members. However, as they've got a CL qualifying match in the next few weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the more popular names played.

I've got me red, "People Republic Of Cork" T-shirt, Keane 6 , on the back all nicely washed and ready, then again might wear the Keane/ Michael Collins one, decisions, decisions......... :)

Thetickets were sold out, sniff! There wont be a match fee charged in this case as Shelbourne are a feeder club for UTD so any money raised will go to them. The more money they have the stronger they become. The stroger they become the better they can spot and attract the best young talent and then send them to OT. :D

read a thing in the paper yesterday where the Shels manager was saying that he didn't want the game as they were in the champions league qualifiers Wed night, playing United on Saturday, Bray on Sunday, and the return leg of the euro match next Wed. He said that he'd either have a lot of guest players or he'd basically play the reserves.

Also heard from a Shels supporter that Keano was not meant to be coming over..anyone know if this is true ?

squad for the friendly against shels:

Fabien Barthez, Roy Carroll, Phil Neville, Laurent Blanc, John O'Shea, Mickael Silvestre, Diego Forlan, Juan Sebastian Veron, Roy Keane, Michael Stewart, Quinton Fortune, Ryan Giggs, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Dwight Yorke and Bojan Djordjic.

Captain Roy Keane was given a rapturous welcome in his first appearance since the World Cup rumpus which saw him kicked out of Ireland's squad.

Keane was cheered to the rafters by 11,000 fans who crammed into Tolka Park to watch United hammer the Irish champions.

Nuff said.
