Why is it so hard for some of you to accept that others do not rate Forlan?
Why the abuse, and the charges of dis-loyalty, even worse, to be called a scouser.
It is not exactly the point of this Forum that we all rate players the same , or that we Never disagree , Is it? <img src="graemlins/angel.gif" border="0" alt="[Angel]" />

I personally dont mind ppl not rating players, opinions are welcome. Lost of ppl dont rate Forlan, Nevilles, Veron, Olle, Larry, Silvestre, Barthez, Fortune etc
Its the groundless slagging and willing for players to fail that i detest.
Forlan scored 2 goals at Anfield, ill will allways remember him and be grateful to him for that, you on the otherhand fell fit to slag him just hours afterwards.
You and itchy annoy everyone because of your slagging of certain players and your apparent desire for them to flop and be fuched off to Scunthorpe and then we can bring some other poor sod in so youse can do it all over again.

Just Forlan , because I think we could have done better with 7.5 mils and the Fear that his signing made us miss the signing of a better player in the class of Cisse or Zlatan. Never said he goes to scunthorp, I meant he is not MAN UTD class, and I have no desire for him or any UTD player to Flop, I just watch games and replay matches and moments many many times, and after that I came to the conclusion that he was not worth more than 1-2mils, hence the opinion.
I love MAN UTD more than Life and will always support all our players and defend them, but thats on other Team's forums, but I do not have to so it on this forum, where we are Supposedly all UTD fans.
I was not going to spoil anything or even mention Forlan at all untill I was dared to show up,from poeple who(unlike U) almost never had the guts to defend him before and who made him the Hero, when all the other 10 played better.
Now let me see the two goals agin for the 20th time or so and enjoy them. Terrific . This is my honest opinion <img src="graemlins/angel.gif" border="0" alt="[Angel]" /> And I do not care what anyone think of Forlan , I still do not think he is UTD class. period.

he has become some sort of a popular figure these days, with both the players and fans. did you all see how happy giggs and ruud are when he score, both times?
i am certainly happy for him, seems like the 7.5 million is actually quite well spent, and SAF can still spot a talent when he sees one.

AL you're taking this too seriously. No one said anything about Diego and Maradona. He's starting to come good. Why not support him.

BTW, Diego's performance did absolutely nothing to detract from the fact that we need Cisse in the summer.

RVN, Ole, Djibril, Diego next year.

Its still status quo on the striker front, we have three and Diego is still 3rd choice, but the gap isnt as huge any more.
Al & Itchy will never support Diego, that would mean admitting they were wrong and i was right :D

Diego has 5 goals now, and will probably end up with between 10-15 depending on his playing time. Thats excellent productivity for a 3rd choice striker imo.
 
i think most of us can honestly say that at one stage or another we did at least have 2nd thoughts about Forlan as a striker
However none of us have doubted his workrate on and off the ball. He's such a likeable chap too im glad to see he's starting to get the rub of the green. He's given us glimpses this year of what he can do & i think the future is going to be very good for him. <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

that being said id still like United to sign an out and out goalscorer in the summer.

Most of us have had doubts about every other player and their respective position at some time or other too.
Forlan managed to go through a lot of games (most of them as a sub) without scoring and got slaughtered by certain ppl. If we signed Cisse or Eidur would what would happen if they did the same?

The only "problem" with Diego in my opinion, is that he took a while to score. He always showed a lot of effort and was quite useful creating chances. And now he's turned the scoring corner as well I can't see what there is to whinge about.

We're talking about a player who is steadily improving. Might be different if he wasn't, but he is.

So basically, I'd just say shut the feck up really.

If you've had a chance to watch him at Independiente, then you should know that he's a much better player than what we've seen thus far, and he's only going to improve over time.

I do think he is a quality player, it's just that I have doubts about him settling down at OT. Some players despite their skills never managed to produce the goods for us.

But I'll be happy to be proven wrong on this :)

its as livvie says, he is steadily improving so wheres the problem? its if he wasnt showing any signs of adapting would be the issue. i think he has the right sort of game to adapt if we give him the starts he needs alongside RVN. he has pace and skill, good passer and mover, likes running at people, suited to the Prem. one slide rule pass would have put ruudje clean through if it hadnt hit ruud's heal instead, i really think diego's a creator and he'll get better. ;)
