FA Youth Cup

Blimey, that's a toughie. Lots of attacking talent in the Chelsea side but a defence we can definitely get at too.

Chelsea's FA Youth Cup third round tie away to Manchester United will take place on Thursday 27 November.

The venue is Old Trafford with a 7pm kick off.

Ticket prices are £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.

According to Chelsea's site.

I am not disputing the date but we are playing Middlesbrough reserves on the same evening....very strange to be playing two games on the same evening.

Perhaps they will postpone the Reserves game?

Yeah, I thought that was a bit strange, would imagine they'd postpone it.

First leg of the final is on. Arsenal and Liverpool. Should I watch it?

If you had of, you'd have seen a poor looking Liverpool get taught how to play football by the Arsenal lads. Final score 4-1 and Liverpool lucky not to have anyone sent off.

They were lucky not to have players sent off against us in both matches, they have a couple of real bastards in their team.

Yeah not nice to see at this level, no need for it to be honest. You'd think the coaches would straighten them out.

Think there was a player called Adam Hamell (could be wrong here) midfielder, might have been captain, he was a dirty little bastard, nasty too, from the Denis Wise school of 'little bastards'.

Wouldn't be surprised if he went on to make it as a footballer though ;)

You sure it wasn't Adam Pepper ? He usually plays in central midfield together with Ince's son - Thomas. Very small guy!

That's the one I meant thanks. A total pox-bottle. Looks like he wouldn't be out of place in the company of Joey Barton, a nasty individual.

Sounds like the Arsenal youth system is pretty strong even if they are hyped a little.

We beat a stronger Liverpool U18 side than that 3-1 at their own place just before Christmas, and it could have been 5 or 6 (and we had three U16s in the team). Not entirely sure how this Liverpool side got to the final.

They did beat Chelsea - but Bristol Rovers, Birmingham and Bolton doesn't exactly scare anyone

Good to know.
I know it's hard to be definitive until they make an impact in the first team, but judging by the consensus, the Academy production has moved up a level in recent years.

We were so close to beating Chelsea too. Should have been us in the final.:(

Five minutes of defensive meltdown before halftime was the difference. If (if if if etc) we'd kept it tight and come through that game we'd have gone far.
