I was watching this programme the other day and what a team we had in 1994 for the F.A. Cup Final. Only if it wasn't for that 3 foreigners rule, we could and should have won the European Cup for the seasons for that team.

-------------------Schmeichel---------------------

Parker---------Bruce----------Pallister------Irwin

Kanchelskis---------Keane-------Ince---------Giggs

---------------Cantona-----Hughes-----------------

Subs:
Walsh
Sharpe
McClair

That rule was a stinker. That team had potential but will never be recognized by people other than United fans becuase they never won anything in Europe. :( That team was probably the best we've ever had imo. <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

I asked my Dad and his mates just after they had ripped through norwich if they were the best team to date.

After a while they all said yes.

Lucky bastards we are.

Question: if the 1994 United squad was in Europe today without the hindrance of the non-EU rule, would they have had a good chance of winning the Champions' League ? My heart says yes, after all they had the likes of Schmikes at the back and Eric up front, not to mention the two central combos of Pally / Bruce & Ince / Hughes, but would the squad be big enough to compete domestically as well ?

was that the game in 92, Norwich away where Kanchelskis and Ince scored, 3:1 i think,
i rememeber watching that game in the pub @ home,
It was a real nervy time what with the 26 yrs & what had happened the previous yr.
Norwich with mark Robins on form all season were 2nd and had great home form. I didnt think we'd win but we just steam rolled em in one of the greatest ManUtd performances the young Murt had seen. 1:3 i think it ended up and after that game i felt we were as close to winning the league as we ever were.
Id love to see that game again.

It really was a significant game, Norwich were high fliers at the time and after the 26 yrs i personally was set for a life time of it :( .
But fuch did we tear into them that night. I think Robbo was making a comeback after an injury and he was man of the match.
PPl complain about the season were having dont know how lucky they are.
