Was Uriah Rennie not the ref ? He has his own rules...eg his bit of 'law enforcement' in the initial Keane / Twatateer incident.

Feckin' hilarious! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

- I guess the FA are about to find out, what kinda amount they'll fine United

- It's those Nike-shirts... when you've first got them off, it's a puzzle to get in them again .... ;)

Btw... Shouldn't the ref make sure, that all players are wearing their shirts, before allowing them to give up the ball??? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Yeah, it was just like in the Croatia - Italy game in the 2002 World Cup.
The Croatians wore Nike as well and the scorer of Croatia equaliser took some time to put his shirt back either <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

southampton fans on talksport are going mad that it was allowed, they want the game to be replayed <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

Why - did he have his shirt off before he scored then?

I must admit it was one of the funniest things I have seen at the game.He actually made a tackle and won the ball without his shirt on!!
As for the match itself,we played much better than against Villa ,but it still isn't right. For all the chances we created (and there was a lot)I can't recall their goalie making too many saves.Best players for us were Ferdinand and Veron. Now if I say Veron was one of our better players he must have been outstanding because I don't rate the guy.Our worst player by a mile was Giggs - the crowd are starting to lose patience with him, he needs to get it sorted out.Could it be that he knows he has no competition for his position?
Forlan's goal was a cracker, 25 yards out to the left of the area and he put it in the opposite top corner of the goal.

They should be glad that it was only his shirt he took off. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Careful there. Riise started with taking off his shirt every time and then started removing other pieces of clothing

We've lacked for some time a player who can score screamers from outside the box. Beckham started off that way, but doesn't do it nearly enough now.

I would like to see Diego deployed on either the right or the left wing, which would also give Becks and Giggs a bit of competition.

Aren't you forgetting Scholsie, Livs? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

No. Scholes has competition in Veron and Butt. He's needed in the centre - I don't think Diego is a hard battler like Scholes, Keane and Butt.

I think Pat meant that Scholesy hits a few screamers from outside the box Liv!

Diego had to be helped to put his shirt on by my mate Albert Morgan (kit manager)...

Being able to dress yourself is not a major requirement in a Man United goal scorer though is it?... <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> ...

I reckon Diego is going to become a real cult hero at Old Trafford. He just has that thing about him. Everyone loves him and wants him to score. When he scores he bloody well does it in style aswell.

I agree. He doesn't look like a goal machine scoring plenty of tap-in, but I reckon he will continue to score a lot of goals in style in the future.

The players' shirts are different from the replicas. They've got some kind of 2 layer floating over one another thing going on where I suppose you have to untangle and get into the right place before you put it on. I guess waving it around your head can't be very good for the shirt.

Sort of like Sparky for all you doubters out there.

"A scorer of great goals rather than a great goal scorer"

i really think it'd be dumb for the fans to put the blames on him when clearly he's being forced to push inside and play in the middle and away from his best position - which is wide on the left. I hate to point this out everytime.. i think it's very unfair for giggs that some of the fans do not get that his game has been changed and he's taking time adapting to it. he's been our most consistent player by MILES for years and has been looking good whenever he gets to play his own style and game.

Was it still raining - if so, it would have been wet as well, which wouldn't have helped.

stupid ref. was definitely in wrong ... If Forlan hasn't got his shirt back on - he should either by the side-line or the agme should not just re-started ...

Talking abt Ref.'s standard <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

Nope they aren't. If you look at the shirt when Forlan took it off, there's this black layer inside. I don't have a replica of the new strip but I don't think it's got a second black layer underneath.

but the referee is surely wrong to allow the match continue like that. That Soton player must be worrying is there another spectator came on the field to tackle him! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

The ref was wrong to let the game kick off when a player wasnt ready, he has to check that both keepers are ready etc
