Who would have thought it after his disatrous Derby day debut but suddenly the little Frenchman is keeping the combative Argentine out of the side.
Who is your 1st choice left back and can we keep both players happy. Maybe moving Silvestre on would be an option?

Evra for me is 1st choice on form

I love Heinze but i feel that Evra's strong points outweigh Heinzes, especiallg going forward. He seems to have worked hard on his defensive prescence too, most notably in the air.

Long term i fail to see how SAF can keep both happy, both deserve first team football

Depends what sort of team really for me. Against a tough set of bastards like Bolton you would probably want Heinze. Against a team with pacey wingers like Arsenal it'd probably be better with someone like Evra.
You could also say though that most of these strong and tough Blackburn-ish teams pack the defence and pace is needed to unlock them - Evra and that with skilful wingers you'd want someone to kick the shit out of them like we did against Arsenal in the 4-2 victory.
Debatable really. I'd probably go with Evra on form. Our fluidity is a joy to behold with him and Ronaldo down the left wing.

Well after Henzie was picked ahead of Evra for the Chelsea game i thought it was clear who SAF favours but thats totally changed since then and if i had to pick then id go with SAF and thats the little french lad

Just a shame he aint getting the credit outside of us UTD fans, he's been without a doubt the best left back in the league this season yet a duo to a couple of decent goals Baines and Taylor are the ones being talked about

For now Evra. He's been bombarding that left hand flank like he's hopped up on magic dust. Its a great headache for the manager to have. When we are playing teams like Chelsea or maybe even the dippers i'd probably prefer a 100% Heinze. But on matches like this Evra can really come into contention.

United have the best LB options in Europe, thats for sure.

I have read Evra quotes saying his first half season with United was a culture shock coming from the south of France. The physical nature of English football as well as the weather and food were all things to get used to. But he realised he was at a club of world stature and he had to work hard and adapt to make it happen.
Any player that is keeping Heinze out of the side must be doing something right.

Both.
Evra for now. I hope Heinze stays put here. When Gabby is properly fit again he will get a game at Centre Back or Left Back soon enough and we know he has the ability to perform in both positions. Some of his CB play for Argentina was very solid.
Evra's got the game right now and Heinze must improve to be picked at Left Back in most circumstances. If we let Silvestre go then we need to have Heinze get a game before long somewhere if we get injuries in the Centre Backs. If he feels he's got a chance of a game in two positions then why shouldn't he be motivated to stay and fight?

at this period i prefer Evra

It is a tactical decision. Heinze against big, physical opponents. Evra for the rest. Against the likes of Drogba or Gerrard I would prefer Heinze. But against a more continental side like Arsenal I would prefer Evra's speed and support in our passing game.

Evra for the moment. When we want someone to get stuck in and physical presence is of utmost importance then Heinze.

There's no doubting Heinze is a world class defender, but at the moment Evra's form is fantastic and he deserves his place in the starting 11.

Up till yesterday I would have said Heinze, but after seeing Evra and the way he played yesterday, I think its a close call.

Personally I dont care which one it is, as long as they do the job.
