Bitten by an adder as a baby, the adder died.
Listening to talkspite this afternoon I heard some Everton fan talking about a 30% sell-on fee, can anyone confirm or deny this? If so maybe we can get around it by utilising some player swap deal (muppetry I know but today of all days it's acceptable).

Last night Daniel Taylor said the clause expired. Phil McNulty is saying Everton just confirmed there is, in face, a clause.

I'm confused. Daniel Taylor is pretty ITK with these things but Everton would be more so. However, it's Everton via Phil McNulty who I've never heard of.

Math fail

Well he is kind of right. It is no use getting 30 million for him because in actuality we'd get only around 23. But if we get 25 million we get to keep the entire 25. Ofcourse if the fee goes higher then we can make more.

Is it not 25% of the profit?

I refuse to believe anybody would approve a clause of 25% of anything more than what we paid. That's just retarded, there's no way that's true.

It does seem a bit weird but that's what i've been reading anyway.

I thought people were saying, something along the lines of...if we sell him for

28million

Everton would 250,000(25% of 1mil)

*their percentage comes in after the 27 million mark.

Yes, I believe that it is a percentage of the amount above what we have already paid Everton.

Nope. Its percentage of profit and not on percentage of sale. Still no official confirmation if its still in force. I wouldn't be too bothered if they do get a couple of million pounds.

And if Everton still have a sell on fee clause active then I assume that they would sue if we put an unrealistically low value on any incoming players.

If we sold him for 30 million Everton would get 750 000, which is 25% of the profit we've made over the original 27 million asking price

You are correct, obviously. The other two have failed their math.

No idea. But a player plus cash deal has still got an overall price considering what the player is valued at the time of transfer.

Does it really have an overall price between the clubs? I know the media always add the estimated value of the player who goes the other way, but I'm not sure the clubs talk about his value.
