Discussion Your Lineup Prediction

  • Man United's last ever trip to Goodison Park. Only once did I attend a match there, 2008 when David Moyes Everton grabbed a draw. Darren Fletcher with the United goal then ex player/keeper Tim Howard kept his side in the game until another ex United player Phil Neville's crossed for Fellaini to head in.

If someone told us back in early December after we beat Everton 4-0 that we'd be below them before this game and they'd probably be favourites to win...

    GK: Onana
    CBs: Mazraoui-Maguire-de Ligt/Yoro
    Midfield: Dalot-Ugarte-Bruno-Dorgu
    Number 10s: Zirkzee-Garnacho
    Striker: Hojlund

Would consider starting Eriksen and Garnacho coming on in 2nd half after Garnacho missed another big chance yesterday. He'd potentially be more dangerous coming off the bench. But he scored that overhead kick last season at Goodison so may have another good game there. Also would like Ugarte-Collyer pairing in midfield with Bruno at 10 if Collyer is fit.

Everton are flying high atm and will want to make it even worse for us. Will be difficult to watch.

We can't score goals. We don't have a single player at the club who can score a goal. And there is no way we will score a goal

    2-0 to Everton

    We won't score a goal

Howard Fellani and Neville would all start for us these days

I thought there was a lot of good in our play going forward yesterday. I'd keep the same formula and make a couple of tweaks.

    Onana
Mazraoui - Maguire - De Ligt
    Dalot - Bruno - Eriksen - Dorgu
    Zirkzee - Garnacho
    Hojlund
Kone for Eriksen by the 60th minute and Chido for whoever is having the worst day of the front three, also by the 60th minute.

Everton are resurgent but still have glaring weaknesses. If we can finish our chance (big if), I can see a narrow win or a draw.

Another A masterclass of 5 defenders plus 1 defensive midfielder, and people wonder why we have not been scoring

That midfield duo only works when we have 70% of the ball against the likes of Bodo Glimt or PAOK Salonic. You can't beat any PL side with both Bruno and Eriksen as our only CM's.

Definitely feels like one of those ironic games. A former manager who has taken over a team and got them playing better than us within a few games, with a worse squad.

Can’t see us doing anything again, 5 at the back with 2 midfielders been flogged in the middle, being asked to cover every blade of grass while we have 2 CBs free.

Would love to see Ruben try something different, but more chance of pigs flying.

    When will it end…

The worst time to play them in years.

They’re on an upward trajectory and have found their second wind under Moyes.

    Almost certainly another loss.

Everton playing well at the min, but they struggle with scoring like we do. Expect a loss but not by many. 2-0 everton

Play some kids ffs. I get that every point is vital now, but we need to do something different.

3-3 draw. Just throwing some hope out there. When Ruben was staring at the ground, he mirrored my own thoughts and feelings. Just thinking of this score makes me feel a little better.

Lose this and he is in danger.

With how lenient INEOS were with Ten Hag, I doubt Amorim will be in danger unless we actually get relegated.

Realistically we have nothing to play for in the league. We're in 15th bloody place, we have no real chance of even a high mid table finish and we're 12 points off Ipswitch which seems precarious, but let's be real, we're probably not getting relegated either.

Amorim will be given until at least the next season to get his own signings in and get his philosophy across. His real litmus test starts next season.

I think I remember that one and Giggs had a fantastic game. I think I recall the Everton players praising him after the match.

Final game at Goodison for the fixture.
Moyes back at the helm on a good run.
    Neither team score many goals.

No way we win this. 0-0 is the best we can hope for.

Amad and Garnacho have entered the chat. Garnacho has been on poor finishing form and Amad too i suppose but both could score a goal. Play Garnacho up the center

Confidence at an all time low. I'm hoping Ugarte is fit again and Eriksen should be back from sickness.

Would go with the below lineup:

    Onana
Maz - Megs - De Ligt
    Dalot - Ugarte - Bruno - Dorgu
    Garna - Eriksen
    Zirkzee
Would like to see Garna on the right. Forces him to look up more and Eriksen on the left can combine with Dorgu.

Colleyer and Chido to come on as subs.

The sight of Zirkzee or Hojlund leading the line would inspire confidence in any opposition - Everton included. I remember the days when our attackers instilled fear just by being on the pitch…the likes of Berbatov, Tevez, Cole and Yorke.

Really think Bruno in the CM position is stopping our wingbacks pushing up and ruining the balance, I'd like two from: Casemiro, Ugarte, Collyer, Kone to be that midfield line and he should have to fight for one of the #10 slots as he doesn't track his man well enough so full backs and never allowed to bomb on

    I'd go:

    Whatever Keeper (both equally poor)
    De-Ligt - Maguire - Yoro
    Dalot - Ugarte - Collyer - Dorgu
    Bruno - Eriksen
    Hojlund

    Assuming all are fit.

Bruno needs to be in the #10 for us to have any chance of scoring. I'd like to see Eriksen brought in also for the added creativity with Garna used as an impact sub. You can say there's a lack of legs as a result but Garnacho ignoring Dorgus runs was infuriating, and I think an Eriksen / Bruno combo would be much more likely to pick these out.

I hate having Hojlund start but don't think Zirkzee will do any better at #9. We're so fragile at the moment that I'd want the solid base of Ugarte / Collyer in there to hold the midfield while our #10s hopefully make the difference.

Maz / De-Ligt is a bit of a toss up. Maz has done quite well back as RCB but I quite like De-Ligt in there and would like to see him keep up consistent gametime.

Yeah Giggs was the stand out player on the pitch. Was his assist for the United goal. We were so lucky with pure quality players we seen in action during Ferguson's era and all worked their socks off for the team now compare that to nowadays? a sad state of affairs!

Berbatov? Was one of the least fear inducing United forwards.

Thing is, watch FourFourTwo video, even Moyes plays the "utter-woke-nonsense 3-2-5" attacking formation, with 3 at the back if they have the ball. And some people here still can't comprehend that you can play with 3 at the back in Prem :D
