And our big problem is not a single signing we made in the summer strengthened our first 11. That always has to be the key when making transfers surely. Why waste £100m to buy players that don’t test the first 11 players. A terrible transfer window is once again backfiring, it’s all linked.

I continually make this argument that you should always look to make signings for the first XI and build the squad depth that way.
