Welcome to the Europa League Predictions 2024/2025 competition - first edition.
The number of participants is unlimited and participants can join at any time during the competition. A tag line will be given to the winner of the competition as kindly agreed by @Damien
Match Day 1 starts on Wednesday 25th September at 5.45pm UK time, (18:45 CET). The competition lasts right through until the Final.
Please note that although most matches are on Thursdays, some are on Wednesdays, especially the first round of matches.
Rules are listed below. (Same as the Premier League Prediction rules)
All predictions for a particular game must be in before the game is scheduled to kick off, however late entries will be accepted but not for games already started.
You cannot make any changes after you have submitted your entry for that week of games after the first match of that week has kicked off, even if the game you want to change hasn't started. Instead, please make a new post omitting predictions for the games already started.
Please try to submit your entries as early as possible. Results and standings will be published as soon as possible after the last game of the week has finished. (Hopefully by the following day at the latest).
FGS (First Goal Scorer) predictions are allowed for every match and will be worth three points.
Scoring:
3 points for FGS (First Goal Scorer) of every game in the week.
3 points for Correct Score. eg Prediction 2-1 (Result 2-1)
1 point for Correct Result. eg Prediction 2-2 (Result 1-1)
This season there are 8 League Format matches through to the end of January 2025. Clubs who finish in 9th to 24th position will play a knock-out round and will join the clubs who finish 1st to 8th in the next knock-out round.
There will be 3 Double Points Matches per round of matches in the League Format Stage (one of which will be selected by a previous week's highest scorer), ie: Correct Result = 2pts, Correct Score = 6pts, First Goal Scorer = 6pts.
The highest scoring poster of any week gains an extra 3pts and gets to select the Double Points Match of their choice for the next round of matches. Should there be more than one participant with the most points in any week, the participant posting their predictions the earliest will be deemed to be the winner.

If, for any reason, a match is postponed, you will still be able to predict it whenever it is played at a later date. All 380 matches can be predicted.

Do not be disheartened if you miss some game weeks, there are many points available throughout the season which will hopefully give everybody some fun and a chance to win.

FAQ:
- If you forecast a 0-0 draw correctly - you gain 3 points. No extra points for putting ‘no goalscorer’. However you can nominate a FGS as a backup which if the result is not 0-0 then maybe your FGS can redeem the points.
- If you wish to change a prediction, please make a new post. Do not amend a post that includes a match that has already kicked-off otherwise you will lose any points gained prior to your amendment. A new post will overwrite a previous post.
- Please post your predictions before the scheduled kick-off time. If the scheduled kick-off time is 3pm - then if your post is timed at 3.01pm you are too late. Rules are strictly adhered to, for fairness to all.
