Great Britain in basketball means something like Liverpool and Premier League trophy.

Dude they will play in Olympic games as host nation in 2 years. In Basketball it's the biggest international tournament.

But what does it have common with my post about them as a shite team?

It has to do with your suprise that they will play in Eurobasket. They will play in much bigger basketball tournament year latter.

Concerning them being shite. Well they won their qualifying group with 6 wins and 2 losses. Can't be that shit?

No, I'm not surprised that they will play in Eurobasket. It wasn't me who was surprised, real properly next time. I just compared their achievements (and succes) in basketball to Liverpool's in Premier League.

Won both matches against 4th Bosnia and 5th Hungary. Lost away from home with 2nd Macedonia and 3rd Ukraine. Firstly, that was really weak group, secondly, they lost away to next two teams in the table.

Lets be real here GB isn't a great team by any stretch.. they have some good players though who play in the NBA but I don't see how they will get out that group. Spain and Turkey are too much IMO.

If Spain and Turkey are too much. GB can always qualify as third team behind those 2 :D

Being serious. Of course it's very unlikely for GB to qualify to top 12. but overall there are far much worse teams in the tournament. GB is likely to get 2 wins and finish 4th in the group. which would mean they end up 12th-16th at 24 teams tournament.

And that just because of unlucky draw. In any other group GB would have a decent shot to get into top 12 IMO.

Lets not forget about the hosts either.. They have the highest basketball pedigree in the tournament.

I was kidding. The hosts, Serbs and Spain are clear favourites to win the whole thing IMO. Turkey are the world's vice-champions. GB got screwed by the draw Big Time.

You can have your opinion man don't get me wrong, I just think they are fecked - they are in a real tough group. Serbia will be gunning for this tournament though mark my words.

Surely all best teams will be gunning for this. Only the top 2 teams qualifies straight to Olympic games. Anything but final won't be good enough.

Of course they will, from a Serbian perspective we will be gunning for it big time given how we lost out at the last tournament to Turkey.. fecked over more like.

Of course. Serbia has a great team, passionate team . Lithuania is mad with Basketball. And they will have 10k people support at latter stages. And for them this is The One to win. Spain has a dream team on paper. And will be desperate to rehabilitate them-self from their disappointing world champ. I am pretty sure one of these 3 will win it.

Spain still have a great team, and they will be pushing hard for this one. Especially seeing as some of their senior players are getting on a bit more. This is why I said people don't understand how big of an achievement it was for Serbia to beat Spain in the World Championships.. with that young of a team, it really was fantastic.

Yeah it was Magnificent. I never forget that amazing Teodosic shot. Wanted Serbia to win, cause i don't like spain that much. But dude, they were really struggling throughout the Championship. Lost 2 out of first 3 games. Was incredible lucky to finish 2nd in the group to avoid USA in Qfinals.

wow the ticket prices for games are outrageous . Prety much lithuanian living on average income has been priced out of any games. My Guess most of the games will be played in completely empty arenas.:(

The champiosnhip looks to be set for disastrous fail. Organizers messed up epic by out pricing average fan. And now Lithuania lost to injury their star player Linas Kleiza. If Lithuania wont play any good, the people will loose any interest in the championship. It's very likely this championship will be one of the worst ever. But as it is in Lithuania nobody would be surprised.
