I'll go with France.
I suspect that France will win it and I expect Croatia, Iceland and Poland will reach the semifinal along with France... but I wouldn't be surprised if Iceland messed up and Denmark reached the semifinal in their place.

To be honest I'm ecstatic just knowing that they'll finish as one of the top four teams.

There's an attempt to create a decent UK Handball team for the 2012 Olympics. I doubt they expect to get near the medals, but they don't want to be embarrassed too badly at home.

Americans should start playing handball.
They play a lot of sports which requires hand technique during their youth and I reckon you could put together a strong handball team from the basketball players that didn't make it all the way to the NBA.
A team of 210 cm ex basketball players would be good. The tactics and stuff can be learned.
