Nat King Cole vs Sam Cooke - who's better?

Cole had an incredible voice. Soft and sultry, it crossed racial devides and appealled to all.

While Cooke's voice was clear, gospelly that had influence on the early years of soul music.

Who do you think was better, more influential?

I actually find the king's voice a bit raspier, he knew what write and how do it too. The King was an all round artist even better than Sam Cooke in that he completely mastered the whole Jazz scene. He made Jazz sexy NOT boring. Cookey on the other hand, had the voice of an angel and was more commercially aware than perhaps all other black musicians at the time. Its a difficult choice this one, but I will have to go with Sam simply because I prefer Soul slightly more to Jazz.
Nat King will get the knickers off a woman in an instant BUT Cooke will sooth your soul when you are at a funeral.
