At Inter there is a moment of serenity, at least at this stage of the market. This is confirmed also hearing the words, issued a Cameroonian television by the Inter striker Samuel Eto'o. Which does not mean he could leave Italy in the next season, postponing any decision on return from his vacation and admitting to him that there was interest from big clubs, including Real Madrid and Manchester United.

"It's true that I received some proposals, and it is equally true that on return from my holidays I will have to evaluate what to do next season. I am 30 years old, could be my last big contract, I have to decide whether to stay or leave. But if I had to go away is not going to earn more, but only to feel good in the city where I go, playing well in the team membership and try to give their best, having fun . The Premier League? I always thought it might be a good solution for me, but, I repeat, we must consider many things. The group put you where you go, the type of game."

 He didnt mention us at all, and we're not in the market for a striker, especially not a 30 year old that would cost as much as he would.

Don't spoil my muppetry, Chuck. :D

ffs.

I have to bite any time eto'o rumours come up. The best striker of the last decade. We would never sign him, which is unfortunate because he's fecking spectacular.

Eto'o is the boss. I'd give my left nut to have him at Arsenal, he'd have a field day converting all those chances.

Agree. Fantastic striker and built for our team. Sadly we were only going to fit him in after Tevez came. No room now.

I would love to see Eto'o here. There are stories of his attitude not being the best off the field but on it, he is brilliant. Dont see it happening though.

Would've been brilliant for us but its far to late for us to invest in all things that come with a player like Eto'o.

Would be a superb signing for someone like Arsenal or Spurs.

City could afford him, but he's too good for them too.

Well, the way City are going the like's of Eto'o wont be too good for them. They're in the CL now and are getting better and better. They'll be closer to us this coming season. Certainly a lot closer than Spurs and Arsenal.

I could see Liverpool going for him, and promising him the World in the process.

Surprised none of the muppets are getting excited about Eto'o. He has stated he wants a move to the PL and that Big clubs have been in contact with him.

I would be over the moon if we went for him. Only 30 and has at least 3 good years left in him. One of the best strikers in Europe.

Maybe a swap deal With Berbatov?

You know it makes sense

would have been the ideal replacement for saha a few years ago

i feel he definately would have been more effective than berbatov and he cost less

He is still very good, there is no doubt about that.. I just think now that he is 30 I can't see SAF going for him.. Plus his signing would mean us having to get rid of Berba as well as Owen or send Welbeck and Macheda out on loan again..

I love Samuel, being African an' all but this seems like a plea for Man City to come and sort out his retirement package. Premier League + Last big contract = Man City, to me

How old is he now? Over 30 I imagine?

Shame, was a time when if he'd have come here he'd have bagged countless goals.

One of the most ocmplete strikers I've witnessed.

I doubt we are in for him. He would be perfect for a club like Arsenal though.

Though Arsenal are the least likely club in England of a stature large enough to get him to offer him the salary he would demand.

And with regard to Man United, he would obviously do a job for you but at the expense of Hernandez which wouldn't be doing you any favours.

He would be absolutely lethal here. He's made for the English game in many ways, he'd drive opposition defenders nuts. I'd love us to get him but fear we can't compete with Man City on the wages front. Sam is still the best striker in the world for my money.

Eto'o > Berbatov

Not even a contest.

Versatile as hell, can play out wide, drop deep, has the quality to create something out of nothing, and despite his supposed reputation as a trouble maker, when asked, sacrificed his scoring for Mourinho and Inter. Yet this season, when thrust back into the limelight, scored goals for fun again.

Real were stupid to lose him, Pep 'the genius' an even bigger loser for letting him go, he is twice the player David Villa is.

But he won't be coming here, and no way in hell does he go to Arsenal...what's the attraction? Compete for 4th and not get paid(they certainly won't offer the sort of wages, Chelsea, City or even we could offer)

He's 30. He still would bag countless goals though. Ridiculously good player. Guardiola pretty much acknowledged this when he signed Villa as they were missing Eto's movement far too much and Villa was the closest thing available. He knows he made a huge mistake letting him leave.

Is he really a troublemaker? Or is it just bullshit?

I mean just because he didn't see eye to eye with Pep doesn't mean he's a troublemaker.

Fantastic striker though one of the best I've seen and on a pitch a great professional (Always remember when he could of quite easily gone down and won a penalty when Ferdinand make a clumsy challenge on the him in the box but stayed on his feet back in 2008)

Would be a great buy for Arsenal, Wenger should push the boat out for him if he wants to leave.

Wenger should snap him up. Would be perfect for Arsenal, giving them a clinical edge.

He'll demand astronomical wages, and so he should. Strikers of his quality are few and far between. Doubt we'd smash our wage structure for him, but if City get him I can see them really putting on a challenge for the title next year.

Bullshit. Seems Villa isn't rated much on this forum.

He refused to come on the pitch as a substitute once. So no smoke without fire and all that. But get him actually on the pitch, and he's one of the hardest working players on it, will do a job for the team out of position etc. If he is a trouble maker, he's one of those players that its worth putting up with in order to get the benefits.

I remember reading an interview on him where he was talking about going home and studying footage of past games so he could watch where his team mates would make runs and how they preferred passes. Might create small fires where he goes, but there's no denying he works his socks off for the team.

Also talked in that same article about Larsson and how he taught him the most important skill he ever learned. Said Larsson taught him how to make defenders "forget" he was there, which allows him to get into such good goal scoring positions.

Would hate to see him at Chelsea or City. But as Inter seem desperate for Tevez, you could see a swap?
