The Eternal City, proud home of SS Lazio 1900.
Our (me, luisa and jester's, skyblue and white colony here on RedCafe) beloved Lazio won their 7th straight match (5 in Serie A, 2 in Italy Cup) today, thrashing Fiorentina 3-0. In 40 days, back into contention for the Scudetto, where we belong. And with Mendieta, Lopez, Fiore only used as subs...
WE NEVER GIVE UP. On the stands, on the pitch, everywhere.

He he, the sunny and bright side of life. Only romans can understand that, sorry for you Murt! And more sorry to witness how boring and uninspired are Sue Daisy replies...Yawn! Just like juve.

I hear the value of unadulterated urine is more expensive than heroin or cocaine on the streets of Rome,Turin and Milan these days.
9 year old girls cannot walk the streets for fear of being kidknapped and smuggled south to Mafia milking farms all because of their precious nandrolone free wee.

The other option is...moving to England: no control at all!

Sorry Murt, I guess you haven't been introduced to Sue Daisy, the alter ego of Suedesi. :D

Piersifal,
You have as much talent as my dead dog. I miss him though. :(

Coherence? What coherence are you talking about, boring gobbo?

Don't worry, we've been around and will keep being around just to kick you in the ass as usual.

My 2 neuron brain ;)

Piersifal - seriously, was Jaap Stam a good buy for Lazio?...honestly we didn't lace him with crack before we sold him.
Although we did have to import some of that pure nandrolone free wee-wee from the Mafia for Veron

Well, nobody knows what really lurkes behind "official" doping cases. The only fact is that in Italy controls are much stricter than in UK. So I wouldn't be so proud of this, if I were you. According to italian control standards, Veron is clean, having been tested in years spent here. Can you say the same for your players at Man Utd., after the Stam affair?

Stricter doesn't mean better. Hence nothing to be proud of.

How is the Italian system better?

Stam's played in Europe for 3 years, and nothing happened to him. So did Guardiola, Davids etc.

The Italian system is way stricter than UEFA guidelines, and might be more prone to errors...

Piersifal - I don't really want to piss in your Trevi fountain and I'd like to think that Seba came to us clean and I'd like to think Jaap went to you clean.
If we were to be completely honest though, I don't think either club quite got the player they thought they were expecting.

I wrote several times that doping is a serious and still unknown field, and if you look at what happened to cycling you'd realise how dangerous it is. The issue is...criteria and medical technology. Maybe doping habits and products develop faster than antidoping. Who knows? The sure thing is that most of the cases were found here, and this should ring a bell as to quality level of testing! What is the official position of FA about this, for instance?

You want to send Veron back here? I am ready to pick him up at the airport! :D

We must not expect more precision than the subject-matter admits. Any talk about Italian doping standards being higher than UEFA or British standards is rubbish.

There's no common standard for nandrolone, and little is known on what exactly casues high nandrolone levels. Two opposing theories exist on the matter, and currently the scientific community is divided on the issue. Arguably the knowledge on the subject-matter is not very clear-cut, and hence to claim that the strictest testing is better, is rubbish imo.

Yeah, but sounds like an easy way-out for clubs, medical staff and players: we don't know how and when nandrolone levels increase, so we can't be punished. But while research is at work, there still must be a common rule in the whole community, I believe; because it's absurd that over 2 mg of nandrolone here in Italy found in someone's blood stops the guy, while in England, say, 6 mg is accepted. Do you finally get the point?

We are just arguing the same point but for stubborness we'd agreed hours ago.

We don't know what causes high levels, so until we know for sure we should omitt those ridicoulous suspensions. What if high levels of nandrolone are caused by a certain food? You don't want to suspend Couto for liking say turkey too much. Innocent till proven guilty. And until it is proven beyond a reasonable doubt that these athletes are a cheat, they should be let free. It also strikes me as odd that Italian standards are much stricter than UEFA ones... on a very gray areat osay the least.

It also goes down to intention. Why would world class players Couto, Stam, Davids, De Boer, Guardiola take it? Any way you twist it makes little sense.

Cheers.

Oops... looks like all good things come to an end ;)

Verona-Lazio 3:1 with 10 minutes to go.
Inzaghi just got sent off.

Camoranesi is having a terrific game.

You can't always win. But, as I said right after watching the first minutes: this is NOT football! It's a scandal to play a match when half the pitch is full of ice, Serie A should be stopped for a month during the winter, the players looked like iceskaters. But pro football is in the hands of tv and sponsors, so the show (?) must go on...

You are not even worth a reply, shame on you for that N, after dozens of topics we discussed on this forum about TRUE racism. You make me SICK! Go wash your mouth before speaking about my club like this, you ignorant!

I am off, now. And I ask Suedesi, yes Suedesi, to please tell the rest to stop this topic from becoming the same old false bullshite! Liverani got boooed during the whole match, but of course these things are not worth mentioning, right?
