Eric Cantona has paid Sir Alex Ferguson the ultimate compliment by stating he wants his ashes scattered on Old Trafford when he dies.
Cantona will pay tribute to the United boss on Monday night during a BBC One programme that interviews many of Ferguson's former players and acquaintances such as Bryan Robson and Franz Beckenbauer, amongst others.
The Frenchman, arguably the most influential player ever to grace Old Trafford, says that Ferguson gave him the respect and the freedom to perform on the field, and he will always regard the Scot as the best manager he ever played under.
Fergie bought Cantona from rivals Leeds United and the mercurial striker became an idol to the fans and the catalyst for the success that United went on to enjoy in the 1990s.
Consequently, Cantona reveals during the interview that when he passes away, he wants his ashes scattered on the pitch that made him a champion and a legend in Manchester.

Saw acntona playing on Dutch tv this morning in a game for overweight players from the past

Some good touches

Asked about the CL final he said Real would win it but he wished United were there instead

I hope that wasn't a snipe at King Denis... <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" /> ...

Eric Cantona.

I have seen plenty of fantastic artists on the football-field during my life. Numerous exceptional players with skills seemingly inherited from other planets.

None of them would have stood a chance to fill Mr. Eric Cantona's shoes.

Not even close.

I treat that statement as an insult to Dennis Law, Law had given his best for United, he moved on as most players do at the end of their time. If you ever watched Law play, and I did, then you will retract that statement, Law is as much a red as I am.

Indeed, I saw Denis many times and the only goal he ever scored where he didn't raise his arm skywards with his fist clenching his cuffs was his last...

A great player who was a great servant to United...

And to City.....Twice... <img src="graemlins/angel.gif" border="0" alt="[Angel]" /> ...
