......as an unbiased Gooner in this tribal rivalry between you and the Scousers,I thought you might care to have my objective opinion.As many might recall from earlier threads,I predicted you would win a tight encounter which was pretty much what happened.I said that after 5 defeats it was about time you won and you certainly got the rub of the green today!I didn't think your overall play merited more than for you to share the points today in a match that was pretty even.Frankly, a draw would have been a fair result.I was again disappointed by RVN.Does he really turn it on in the big games?
Anyway,it would be churlish of me not to allow you to savour the moment,so well done.The result should do well for your confidence in the match at OT saturday against us.(Luckily,I'm going to be there...and I'll be happy with a point.)

Pluses for you today,despite the recent criticism,G Neville had a good game,and I thought OGS also played well wide right,a tactic which reminds me of Arsene Wenger's decision over a year ago to move Wiltord to a similar role where he is now permanently played.

Should be an interesting game next week,we won't be as lacking in imagination as the Scousers were today,but we will be without Campbell.If I had to guess,I'd say a 1-1 draw.What is the consensus here?Would you settle now for a point,or do you think you can beat us ??

A point will do me. Your side is very good, much more imagination and creativity than the scouse shite. Cygan is good but he's slow sometimes, with camball out ull be missing pace in defence and we could exploit that. But with us missing keane i cant see fortune bossing viera so id say as long as we dont get hammered then i spose alright. a draw would suit me...but then i said that about the dippers game <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Anyway to answer your question, I think United are now on a roll and a draw for you next week will be a good result, for you that is. The spirit and confidence shown by this depleted United side means that we have every chance of beating you next week.

We're rightly in heaven today. Another Siddy-esc knightmare would have been difficult to swallow.

Arse next weekend will be a real cracker of a contest. I've got a ticket in the North stand and am really looking forward to it.

Despite a genuine resurgence by our make shift line up of late, Arse are still ahead on recent form and we will have to a) really be on our metal b) have luck on our side and c) welcome a few first chose players back.

Also I think the players who have come in for your injured BIG names have done well under pressure , bit like ours last year , so no the title will very much be the usual suspects.

hello gooner. I have no problem with anything you have written except the part that you say you have eclipsed us. Yes you won the league last year and currently top the table but you shouldnt believe you have eclipsed us. IMO you lot are great going forward but are not nearly as confident at the back. I think it will be a tight affair but we will win 2-0 yes the gooners dont score!

The win the title and get through to the second phase in the CL and all of a sudden their unbeatable.

You want an objective opinion then here goes:

Barthez vs Seamen (or whoever the new bloke is)
Fabien been their, done it. and in a serious run of form. Seamen - don't make me laugh, new bloke - not seen enough to make a call.

Your defence vs Our attack - You've got no pace, the only, allegedly solid player, suspended. Ruud - playing well, dragging defenders around leaving space for OGS, Forlan etc.

Our defence vs Your Attack - Henry playing very well at the moment. We've got pace their but you've got an establish front line ours hasn't played together much. Todays performance was their best but would have preffered to have Rio in their for a bit of international class along with Gaz & Mickey.

Midfield - Very tough call, Viera vs Scholes, should be fun. If we can keep hold of Pires then we have a very good chance, Ljundberg hasn't overly impressed me since coming back but would have liked to have Nicky Butt in to kick him up in the air every now and again (harsh but fair)

Overall - 2 very closely matched teams. The difference between United v Arsenal as opposed to united v dippers or shitty is that this game usually produces good footie.

Arse have the edge in term of players available but you had a full strength team when we won 6-1 so who knows.

You compare Vieira and Scholes - you're mental mate . Have a look at this Vieira, Gilberto Silva Pires, Lunberg or Edu against what Scholes, Veron ( he's a pussycat )and who ?? .. Now c'mon you've had strong argumanets in midfield in recent years BUT even your full strength side with Beckham Keane etc have been second best against us in recent years .

I'll give you that you may well damage us with Sol missing and OGS / van Diver on his current form but believe it he will not see the service he needs with Vieira and Silva in the middle of the park .

Goalkeeping, well I'll be blowed... it's only a short tim ago that Bartez was practically throwing them in his own net for fun !!! So I'll always have hope he'll do something very very strange.

I said our defence would have to play out of their skins. O'Shea has got pace, didn't play against city. Mickey played on the left against City but has been at CB for the last 2 games, he's got pace.

Midfield - I compared Viera and Scholes because it was your defensive midfielder against our attacking midfielder. Edu - don't make me laugh. Gilberto - started brilliantly but where was he when the going got tough last month?

Notice you didn't say anything about your keepers, and were hoping for Barthez to make a mistake.

Your defence is shite. Campbell got turned inside out yesterday by Vassell. Cygan - I'm quicker than him. Cole - when he's not trying to get players sent off, can't defend for shit.

Come on then genius who was missing in the 6-1
 
Arsenal are what I like to call "Flavour of the month". The very thing that people have been calling of United for countless years, branding us as Arrogant, seems to have fallen upon you cockney's. What goes around comes around. And whether you are on top at the moment, just remember who the richest club in the World is. Financially we can pretty much guarantee we'll be at the top in 10-20 years time, whether we produce players or just buy the best. Roll on Arsenal.
