not sure about magazines, just use the web myself
tsn.ca and espn.com

The Hockey News is the best magazine around. It covers the NHL, the minor professional leagues, has some European hockey coverage. It also has the most knowledgeable writers and lots of long-time hockey insiders. Very good magazine.

As for websites, TSN.ca is probably the best. Sportsnet.ca is also really good.

Unfortunately there isn't any good hockey magazines here in the UK anymore. We used to have 2 running Powerweek and Ice Hockey News Review. The later was the better of the two, and did cover the NHL, though not in much detail. Power week was a good alternate, but I prefered the Review.

I do think that Power Week may still be around, but having not really attended much English hockey in over 3 years I couldn't tell you. Sports Pages used to stock Hockey News on a regular basis and all the US magazines as well as the occasional match programme's. Unfortunately they went out of business a couple of years back, and I really wouldn't know where to order any of the US magazines from in paper format from these days.

As has been recommended, the internet is your best bet, use some of named sites like TSN for the NHL, and even Hockey's Future as they have general forums for all NHL clubs and the NHL in general. They also have forums for European leagues including the UK. The other European based hockey pages I'd suggest would be Euro hockey net. They cover player transfers Europe wide and offer a reasonable forum.

As for the UK, I'm a little lost at the moment as to what has happened to the Five forum, they were quite active during the season, but at the moment, Five seem to have taken them off the website, as it's the off season and we don't know yet if they are going to be showing hockey this season. Again most of the English teams have forums on the websites, which discuss both the UK leagues and the NHL.
