England v Bangladesh

Seems to be a fast wicket and a bit of swing about, hopefully get them out cheaply allthough it looks like wer doing our best to give them easy runs.

NO-BODIES captaincy is good enough to make up for that on a regular basis!

Vaughan's is.

when you consider the alternatives.

anyhoo, back t'cricket...Bangladesh were never going to be as potent on this wicket as they were against India and RSA so good news all round it would appear.

seems a bit odd tho to make a team stop and restart just because they were actually quite good and got a team out quick...seems almost like a punishment to me.

You don't know unless you try them, maybe Collingwood would be a fine captain? Flintoff and Strauss could certainly do it, though they have their own issues foiling that, Nixon seems to make half the decisions at the moment anyway

If Vaughan keeps getting out cheaply, there's no decision to make. The pressure he's putting his own team under is too much, and against the better teams it's costing us

this is not the time to be testing a complete novice.

and Flintoff and Strauss have done it...and done it badly.

i know it's frustrating waiting for it but maybe all he needs is one good score. he's a class player. you don't just suddenly become shit.

Vaughan saw what splitting the ODI/test captaincy did to Hussain and i'm sure he feels they're going to have to wrestle the job from his cold, dead fingers.

At test level yes. Vaughan has never proved himself to be a class one day player, 80 games and not a single 100? 30 times out before making 10? Not good enough

I say this as Bell goes cheaply, nothing changes...

well, maybe today's the day.

him and Strauss to bat through...i feel it.

[edit: originally typed "him and Strauss to get the runs" then thought better of it]

Yes, could well be we win this in the 45th over for the loss of 1 wicket...

In the time it took me to type that, Vaughan got a very kind LBW decision, then was dropped by the keeper!

We should win it by 25, I was taking the piss...

Anyway, lunch, which means I can finally make a prat of myself to the people walking past my flat, and play some Wii sports tennis

At 6pm this evening, I made this comment to take the piss:

Yes, could well be we win this in the 45th over for the loss of 1 wicket...

I wasn't bloody far off was I? Pathetic from England, and if it comes down to net run rate, and we lose out, well I'll be extremely angry. That would require us beating Safrica, can't see that in a million years

[Operation: Straw Clutch]

Bangladesh are no mugs...they've beaten New Zealand, India and South Africa since they've been in the caribbean.

nut rate's still better than RSA.

My guess is that you're actually telling it how it was, with the drunk hostess thing.

I'm going to make some names up tonight.
