They are planning on using a lot of football stadiums between 4/09 and 17/10 that will be ripped to shreds. Have the Premier and football leagues actually approved this?
Critics of England’s bid say that the Government has not underwritten the entire fee of £80 million, whereas the governments of Italy and South Africa have done so, and that of the iconic football stadiums named in the RFU plan, Old Trafford has yet to be sewn up.
The latter is dismissed as a legal technicality by the RFU because it says that Manchester United are as eager to host more international rugby as anyone, while the former is merely a chance for England to reiterate how much it has already achieved with no backing from the Government.
What about Champions League games? I'm sure that UEFA will not be too pleased.
