Endrick - Real Madrid watch (Good Kid? Mad City)

Was the only obvious choice despite the Chelsea links

@Red Star One

Highest potential ability possible on Football Manager: -10PA, meaning his potential ability is not fixed and gets randomized every new save (since we’re not fully certain of how talented he actually is) but -10 means he always lands in the 170-200 potential ability range, where 170 is already a top premier league player and 200 was not even given to Messi IIRC (I think he was at 199PA for most of the last versions). So, according to the FM, perfect storm and he might become one of the best ever. I play most of the FM games since decades and don’t remember many -10PA rated talents last ten years, I think it’s only Mbappe few years ago and Endrick now to get such rating. So yeah, the rate his potential as high as it gets.

Cheers for this.

I love that we have a 34-year-old striker who is showing physical problems so we go ahead and buy a literal child.

From what I've seen I think he'll be one of Europes top strikers.

We don't know how tall he will be though, right now he's 1.73m, so he has a low center of gravity but we don't know if he's going to get taller or not then maybe he's more of a targetman.

But he hits the ball so well, and he plays more like a 22 year old not a 16 year old.

He’ll go the way of Odegaard and be slugging it out at a PL team. RM are not good at nurturing talent.
Odegaard was an anomaly, he's the kind of player who only thrives in a certain system, and he isn't good enough to displace Modric in their system.

Hard to see this kid failing and would be nice to see some competition to Mbappe.

You're over-estimating the percentage of 16 year old wonder-kids who go on to eventually be GOAT levels. They're often brilliant at their age group and even normal performances at a higher level get blown out of proportion because, well, they're only 16. There is of course a chance he'd make it, but it's more likely Arsenal will buy him in 4 years for 30m.

Yeah, for a large variety of reasons it’s far easier to see him failing than being a major hit.

EDIT: obviously the usage of failing is very relative. Odegaard is having a very good career, just failing in comparison to what he was spoken about at 15, Rooney could feasibly be described as failing on what he promised when he broke through etc…

Mr Perez and the Hot Steppers got in too quick

Huh? He’s literally 16. Nobody can say for sure how he will be when he’s 21. Sure he’s got the best of chances now with coaches etc but it’s a punt on an overhyped child

I think the Odegaard case was an aberration. It just never made sense to buy a 15-year-old or 16-year-old to bring him to Real Madrid Castilla. I don't know that this was really any better than just having him develop at a smaller club where he could play first division football instead of second division. He also had these ideas about how much he wanted to start so he was never too interested in sticking around to be a squad player. It was a failed experiment.

This is just signing someone early, but he'll stay in Brazil and do things the "normal" way.

He's gonna be the brazilian Pelé!

People who are saying that this is a risk for Real are deluding themselves. A lot of the price that is being posted is almost certainly clause based (Eg. Balon D'Or wins, goals scored etc) that they will avoid paying if he flops. Secondly, even if he doesn't live up to expectations he'll still probably be good enough to fetch a price in excess of what they paid for him.

Odegaard is being mentioned as one who didn't work out but the still got £30m for him off Arsenal.

I do have a hunch that he will make it big there though.

His name must be changed to Endrickinho. I think he could become a light version of R9.

Thought this was a done deal to Chelsea? Didn’t Thiago Silva himself show him around Cobham?

Bloody hell:eek:
Correct. Was very interested in coming too, but we hesitated with completing it. if you believe David Ornstein. But, as many said, its Madrid. I Naively thought we may beat them!

When it comes to Real Madrid and players from the continent, it’s an absolute no brainer. You just can’t compete with them.

Many people including our scouts 'knew' Mbappe was going to make it at 16

Based on what I've seen so far, I'd say he's a gamble worth taking. And they can afford to swing and miss. Either way, he was never coming here, so I don't really care. Get me Moukoko!!

Supposedly, only €25m is clause based - €35m fixed + €12m in tax. So, it looks like they have committed to, at least, €47m.

Exactly I remember when Milan signed that Moroccan 14 year old wonderkid and everyone was hyping him up to be the next Ronaldinho - failed miserably.

Take a look at Valverde.... He was supposed to fight for a spot on that midfield but he worked harder and showed more determination to adapt & play a new role(RW) the same position Ødegaard still/used to play.

Overhyped is a strong word. I think everybody at Madrid knows that there are no guarantees but they deem the player worth the risk. Those risks paid off in case of Vinicius and Rodrygo.
