Email registration question

A poster from another site I am on has been trying to register on here, but they can't cause they only have free email accounts, which can't be used in registration. Is there anyway around this requirement of the registration process?
 
No, the big free email providers are banned for a reason. There are plenty of others that he can use. A quick google search will find hundreds of free ones which he can still use. Stay away from gmail, hotmail, yahoo. Look for the smaller ones.

ps. who the heck are you?
 
Well I registered with an ISP address. I don't have access to it anymore and I'm just wondering if I could change the e-mail now to my gmail account.

Just in case.

Why? I realise I am new here, but i didn't think that would be a problem when asking.
 
Out of interest why are the big free email providers banned? One of the reasons for allowing guests to view the forum is so they can click on the ads so surely the more members there are the more clicks the site will get and we can finally get that spoiler hack installed?

i would presume because it is harder to have multiple non-free email accounts so it is easier to stop spamming posters, posters who rereg just to wind up, and people who want multiple profiles.

Exactly. It doesn't stop them though, I've banned one this morning who had succeded in setting up another poster and getting him banned first and he's been here at in at least 60 different guises in the past 6 months despite us banning rakes of free-mail enablers he has been using. Hopefully the harder we make it the more likely it is that they'll eventually get bored, especially as the bulk of the forum they're looking to impress can't actually see them.

Mexos, you should be able to change your e-mail address in the user cp, if not drop myself or another admin your g-mail address and we'll do it for you.

Nah - the 500 odd posts would probably be the reason you haven't seen me! posted regularly in the noobs when i was there (was out fairly quickly), but in the mains by the time i see a thread i rarely feel my opinion would add anything, as what i was going to say has already been said.
