After Elon retweeted some guy who accused Jews of undermining America by "importing immigrants", he got a lot of criticism for anti-semitism. Then he announced that he was going to ban certain pro-palestian phrases and the ADL decided he was "leading the fight against hate".

Basically the ADL doesn't mind if you hate Jews as long as you hate Palestinians more.

He may well be a Nazi considering his politics, but doing a Nazi salute on television doesn't serve any purpose. He is causing real damage via his closeness to Trump, his Twitter project and utilizing his money/power as the world's richest man. He is not going to jeopardize his position by doing a Nazi salute on live TV.

He is extremely awkward due to his autism, he has never had to learn to mask due to his position in society, the Nazi salute is him trying to be cool or expressing his emotions I think.

I don't think in that moment he was aware he was doing that salute, it was an action he made after pounding his chest. I think that is what happened because doing a Nazi salute on television is the stupidest thing he can do. It serves no purpose here.

My son is diagnosed autistic, I have all the same traits as him but not formally diagnosed. I just think it serves no purpose for him to do that salute, it is just too stupid.

oh it definitely it serves a purpose when nazi's publicly show they are nazi's and the immediate reaction of society is either to go meh or to makes excuses

these people are testing the water to see how far they can push their toxic agenda, little by little, and so far the reaction of society has been "okay go on then"

My friend's son has autism but I havent see him going around doing a Nazi salute.

I am not saying Autistic people do Nazi salutes. I am quite likely autistic my self (my son is diagnosed autistic and I have all the same traits but I have not pursued a formal diagnosis). I am saying that in his awkwardness he made that action. Now I am hearing he did it twice, which probably invalidates my awkward argument.

I don't know what to think. I just don't believe he is that stupid to do it on live television. But the second one is even more damning. I hope Trump and Elon have a falling out soon because an actual Nazi (hoping he isn't) pulling the strings is not something the world can survive I feel.

I kind of get you, when I first saw it my brain refused to accept what I've just seen. But when a guy with fascist background in his family promoting right wing extremism on his social media platform and indulges in fascist speech, does a Nazi salute lookalike gesture might just be a Nazi salute
