There was a tweet earlier, after Musk pretended he understood Linux commands to make a joke, where someone said something along the lines of "Musk said something technical about cars and everyone called him a genius, I know nothing about cars so I assumed they were right. Musk said something technical about rockets and everyone called him a genius, I know nothing about rockets do I assumed they were right. Musk said something technical about computer science and everyone called him a genius. I know enough about computer science to tell that Musk is full of shit."
I was always skeptical of the dude but that tweet confirmed all my doubts. Paypal was probably done by everyone but him.
He is definitely one of those "Big Ideas" people. He charges into a room, shouts "GO TO MARS!" and that's it. He goes back to giggling at memes. Other people, people with actual brains, extrapolate that into something feasible, scope it, design it, test it, implement it, refine it. Musk stands on stage with the finished article and everyone fawns over him as if he just magically shat it out all by himself.
I can't watch that video right now but since it's Bill Burr I'm going to say "he's absolutely right."

This seems to be some inside baseball streamer nerd drama that I'm not totally up on, however what is painfully clear is that Elon Musk doesn't understand language and in this specific instance he doesn't understand what the word "editors" means, that it might have different meanings in different industries, contexts and when used in general speech.
How the feck can one person be so lacking in even a basic understanding of language, communication, comprehension and also have such a hollow grasp of anything he turns his attention to whether that be culture, art, philosophy. I know idiots, I'm an idiot but this guy is a special kind of idiot.

Elon beefing with the literal representation of the "gamer in mothers basement" and SpaceX is catching a rocket for the 3rd time. I had the exact same thought and I saw Quin69 make a similar observation, it's at a point where I wonder if he isn't a bit slow and it's actually wrong to ridicule him.
It's also something that reminded me what a teacher told us at Uni, basically some of the stupidest people he met were students or teachers that were somehow academically successfully, they somehow manage to understand how to get good grades but have little understanding of the topics they "studied" and it became obvious whenever they had to converse casually about these topics or anything else.

I think you might be right on both counts regarding her son's main issues.
On a sidenote I thought that Sungrand take was interesting, I didn't think about the fact that Musk could have tried to bamboozle some investors but didn't realize that he couldn't trick actual gamers.
He was clearly full of shit during the Elden Ring phase, let alone something far deeper and more involved. The interesting thing about the gaming stuff, for me anyway, is that it's yet another rather large group of people now realising what he really is. And a group that traditionally backed him to the hilt, no less.

To be fair the majority of gamers online seemed to know that he was a fraud, he just didn't make it obvious enough for one of the most toxic community on the internet to turn on him. The funny thing is that the ones that actually backed him are still doing it, as a great man said yesterday those are gonad gobblers.

It says a lot that gamers are probably more skeptical than the huge finance companies backing him. Anyone who helped him buy twitter has lost half their money and it was clear as day that the entire thing was idiotic yet they still paid billions for it. He tried to fool gamers and they didn't buy it despite not being asked for a penny.
That's because most of those types of gamers are weird nerds that will disbelieve most things straight off the bat, especially if it involves someone else doing something they can't do. Completely different to the circle jerk con that is corporate business.

The people that backed him to buy Twitter didn’t expect to make any money out of Twitter. They expected to get Trump elected amongst other election interferences and the payoff for that will make the few billions they dropped into Twitter seem like chicken feed.
While hating is part of the gamer culture, every gamer knows it which makes his claims and attempt to fool gamers on stream absolutely ridiculous. It's even worse when you consider the fact that it's also one of the pettiest and toxic bunch, they will never let it go.

My point is pretty clear, the people Musk makes money for in business know what a house of cards the shit he's involved in is, they just don't care because they're making money from it. They aren't being duped and gamers are some elite clique that can magically see past bullshit nobody else can.
The real reason gamers saw past the bullshit isn't some magical power, it's literally because the game he was playing, as well as Diablo IV, required such a huge time sink in order to be at the level he claimed that with everything he does, including hundreds of tweets and replies daily, was impossible to achieve. It was just common sense to people who know video games.

Welcome to my brain.
Wasn't so obvious with Diablo he had the benefit of the doubt that game is tiddlywinks compared to POE2, not only the time sink but he had one of the best characters in the world and couldn't understand what gear he had or how to efficiently control his character or UI. Or even open a map which he realistically would have done thousands of times to get to that point where his character was.
Honestly while this might not seem that big of a deal to a normie it is absolutely one of his biggest goofs in terms of support, especially breaking his own rules by leaking DM's and essentially censoring Asmongold. I have been on the internet a long time and saw in real time how much things like the original gamergate contributed to the first Trump win, gamers, and i mean the real sweaty ones, are a hornets nest of exremists and social outcasts its why the culture war is still going particularly strong.
