Elon Musk | Doer of things on X and sad little man

I do think Musk cares about humanity. Just in a very abstracted, intellectual uncaring way. But I genuinely believe that his personal "end game" is the betterment of mankind.

It's just that the means to it, and his vision of what that actually means, are probably quite unsavoury, and it's all muddled by his own callousness, unprocessed avarice and personal ambition.

I think he envisions a world run on sustainable energy, where the age of space exploration is renewed and Elon Musk sits on top of the pile and the credits roll states "the future has been brought to you by Elon Musk". And no one looks at the ultra capitalist right wing hellscape he made to get there.

I don't think he cares about humanity, I think he's a techno-utopian but it's not due to his will to better humankind it's because he's a tech bro that enjoys innovation. Those two concepts might cross over but I don't think there's any empathy in his decisions he's a sociopath.

To be honest it's the same with Bezos, Zuckerberg and Gates they've all been at stages where their driven selfish personal goals happen to coincide with (arguable) benefits to mankind.

He's an Ayn Rand character personified and like most super rich folk they end up finding altruistic projects are the final remaining option for stroking their ego. Musk probably thinks he's being altruistic with some of his projects but he's still just a rich egotistical ball bag.

What @Pexbo said. He cares about humanity in as much as he wants to be seen as its saviour.

He cares about the optics, not humanity. Wanting to save humanity and wanting to be seen to save humanity are not the same thing. Also he only wants to be seen to save it sensationally. Just feed and house people with all your money dude.

In an intellectual way? I thought this type of facade that he created (genius savant/polymath, guy who studies problems diligently) had surely been pierced through at this stage. I find him very much like Trump in that way, good at marketing himself in a certain light.

Let's see what the court says first. X may have opened a can of worms for itself here.

Also, I shouldn't be but am surprised Musk is going to the mattresses for fecking Alex Jones.

I agree a little bit but I would rephrase it as Musk cares about caring for humanity. Sometimes. I agree that he sees himself as lead figure in a saviour narrative.

But Musk is also a slob and intellectually lazy and often doesn't give a shit about anything. Just look at the grotesque physical state of him, his grotesque personality, his asinine thoughts and ideas and the slovenly way he chooses to communicate them. He's an obsequious weirdo who often resorts to only satisfying his cravings of being liked orgetting a pat on the head from any other weirdo creep that is around.

On a strictly empathetic or compassion based measure, I would honestly say that I believe Jimmy Savile was far more caring towards human beings than Elon Musk will ever be.

Yeah, something like that. I think the people trying to disagree with me misunderstood me as saying that he has any sort of empathetic caring for humanity, when I think what he cares about is the idea of mankind's betterment. And part of the disagreement honestly strikes me as coming from a "this might give a semblance of credit to Musk, which we absolutely can't have" position, which is honestly just a bit dull.

And though I think in his own head, that priority might sit top of the list, for the reasons you give, that aim is very erratically implemented and muddled with his own pathologies.

I don't think he's ever done anything as a kindness to another person, but I nonetheless do think he tries to revolve his projects around some form of higher ideals, however warped. His choice of enterprises suggest as much.

Let's be clear this is not an endorsement (lol), but simply analysis to comprehend his character.

When Jones started broadcasting his show on Spaces he would often have a twitter user called Adrian Dittmann on as a contributor who sounded suspiciously like Musk. Jones himself would often insinuate that it was actually Elon so chances are they have been in contact and have been at least acquaintances for some time. Musk also relocated to Austin where Jones and Joe Rogan (who is also friendly with Jones) both live so Musk could conceivably be simply trying to keep the extent of his connection to Jones quiet under the pretence of protecting free-speech.

Last week, in the midst of the flurry of his daily missives, Musk reposted two X posts that revealed the names and titles of people holding four relatively obscure climate-related government positions. Each post has been viewed tens of millions of times, and the individuals named have been subjected to a barrage of negative attention. At least one of the four women named has deleted her social media accounts.

Yeah I read this earlier and I've already spoken to some friends in the federal system who are absolutely disgusted and worried about it. Like anything else with Trump and his cloud the worry is also that this will take the treatment of govt employees at all levels that already got worse under the first Trump term - to another new low. There are so many reasons why this is all sorts of fecked up.

concerning
Looking into it.

Seriously though, Musk is a fecking thundercnut and this is pretty much stochastic terrorism. They’ll end up replacing these people with incompetent randos like Randy from small town Mississippi just because he’s a massive Trump supporter.

As I've said a few times in here, there are so many ways to weaponise Twitter; it's an awful, awful tool in the wrong hands and it's absolutely disgusting that Musk will get to show us just how diabolically bad things can be via his utilisation, and now he has carte blanche to act with complete impunity, things will get worse by a magnitude of order.

 anyone that thinks he’s found happiness and is content with who he is is absolutely barking. A shallow shallow man.

Today I learned that one of Musk's 12 kids is called "Techno Mechanicus Musk".

Musk's kids (that we know of, including the one that disowned him, excluding the one whose name we don't know):

Nevada Alexander
Griffin
Vivian
Kai
Saxon
Damian
X AE A-XIII
Exa Dark Sideræl
Strider
Azure
Techno Mechanicus

Anyone who admires this guy needs to have their head checked.

I like how it starts out a bit eccentric, and then moves into full Warhammer 40K names.

Kai is a decent enough name, whilst Damien may sound like an ok name one only has to watch The Omen movies to understand why that name sends shivers down the spine. Cafs own @Damien seems to have avoided being born as spawn of the Devil, but you never really know, do you?

Saxon, yeah right, he wishes. Strider, I actually don't mind because it reminds me of a classic arcade game that then because famous on early consoles. I still wouldn't give the name to a kid though. Although I did ponder Bomb Jack, Wonder Boy, Resident Evil and FIFA 96 as names for my son when he was born.

As much as I love Techno you wouldn't ever use it as a name for a kid. For one reason, you could never ever stop saying 'Techno, Techno, Techno' whenever you saw him or wanted him for something. Or mocking him by mimicking a beat or a baseline or making whatever fecked up noise you wanted as a riff or sample.

Griffin just reminds me of the mythological half bird half lion, and I would hope his child doesn't look like that.

Azure, great, named after a Microsoft programme or the colour which of course is fine if your partner who was expecting was a smurf. If so, then good choice. If not, then what the feck was he thinking?

One is named after a fecking aeroplane and another sounds like it's named after a Sith Lord from Star Wars. Another is named after a state and former legendary conqueror. That just leaves Vixen which just reminds me of another really old arcade game.

Personally I think that sadly one of the most important things to take in to consideration when naming a child is how it will be seen, used or manipulated by others, especially at school. Kids don't need an excuse to bully others but for fecks sake don't give them ammunition. Musks kids would probably have a hard enough time as it is without those ghastly, pretentious and imho downright cruel monikers placed upon them by their selfish, arrogant and batshit crazy father.
