Being reported in local media in Molde. Fee agreed, minor details before he signs.
What does you people make of this? He has looked a good player for the reserves.

It's been bubbling for ages with talk of a perm transfer then suggestions it was a loan, then back to perm. It's being followed in the reserves forum, but I hope that if it is a transfer rather than a loan that we have a buy back or first refusal clause in the deal.

Yeah not surprised. I seriously don't think he has future here given his age and the amount of chances given to him for the first team.

Heh... Scholes was twenty before he got his debut... and the coaching staff have been clear on the point that Eikrem had some growing to do before he could be considered for the first team, and they've been chuffed about his progress the past couple of years, despite having had a lot of congenital defects to deal with along the way.

It'd seriously surprise me if United were to give up on him already.

I think it would be wise, if a permernant transfer, if we get the option of a buy-back deal.

He's 20 years old! He's also suffered with injuries which have hurt his development, but he has a lot of talent which will undoubtedly continue to grow under Ole if he does go there.

This whole situation baffles me. He's been the standout reserve player for a while now, having put in some excellent performances and clearly demonstrating what he's capable of. The coaches - Solskjaer and Fergie included - have raved about his progress and ability, yet we're not even going to send him out on loan or give him a chance with the first team?

It would be bizarre if this was a permanent deal.

a bit of  and alot of :wenger:

you dont do facts then i take it?

We have like 10 players around his age group who have all been given chances to play in the first team. How many times has he played for us? Don't give me the he-has-been-injured bullshit. He has recovered and in my opinion, I don't think Fergie believes Eikrem is progressing well enough for his age and hence the transfer.

Without going into it you are talking out your arsehole.

If you care to read the thread on Eikrem in the youth team forum (https://www.redcafe.net/f40/eikrem-244561/index3.html) you'll see the actual facts on the situation rather than just dismissing shit you obviously have no knowledge of.

People get so defensive of young players on here. If he does go then I've no doubt he'll just be the latest player dubbed the next big thing by fans to end up not being good enough for the club.

It happens all the time. Never has Fergie let a player go in these circumstances and gone on to regret it. I'm sure he'll make the correct decision.

I agree cw1984 however I still think Pique could have been given more games as cover for CB and DM.

Eikrem, I like, but he is a sort of luxury player - I have said before he is quite static, he will easily be run over and I would not lose sleep if he did leave.

Jesus Christ, people always bring up Pique as if it was a mistake by SAF to let him go. Pique wanted to go home to Barca. Are you saying SAF should've kept him against his will?

He could have gave him more games.

Why does that matter when he wanted to go home anyway?

And Pique never impressed while he was here anyway. You can't expect SAF to play him more when he doesn't perform very well when he gets the chance.

I agree re Pique and you could add Rossi too but that's why I said "in these circumstances" as I believe them 2 left under very different circumstances.

He could have gave him more games.

Yeah, makes plenty of sense keeping Rio or Vidic out when we're battling for trophies with Chelsea. Especially as he never truly convinced.

An extra 5-10 games would have made no difference at all.
