EFL Cup 24/25 Semi-Finals

I bloody love when the mask slips on these "loveable" characters in Liverpool football club. Van Dijk moaning at the refs at the end. cnut

Disappointing but only half time. Second time we've lost and failed to score all season. Can't believe it was against a crap Spurs team. Used up all of our goals in the league fixture.

The subs helped us improve but we weren't really on it during phases of that game. It's not all of the players that are a concern (Van Dijk, Mac Allister, Salah, TAA). Players like Diaz, Jones, Konate, Robertson and Allison etc. have dropped off a bit though. Jones has been awful last two games. Think Szobozslai comes straight back in once he's gotten over his sniffles.

Bradley, Quansah and Tsimikas were all awful.

Liverpool looking leggy. Salah off the boil. Thumb Man in the technical area cracking up. Liverpool Football Club players doing their best Starfish Ste impressions. It’s great to see.

I didn't actually see any of the game but I can confidently state that there is clearly no way Bergvall should have been sent off.
The 2nd one was a yellow, but the first one wasnt. So as you people call it, even stevens or something?

With your problems in both fullback positions, Forest could be inching ever closer to you by the end of your next game.

VVD is the biggest whining prick in the league these days. Always moaning.

Deflecting blame from himself bang average against us on Sunday and blaming Trent for everything. He's great at it, always has the perfect game in his own head and he's never to blame. Now moaning he didn't get to referee this game.
He was outstanding on Sunday. One man defense most of the time.

The TAA stuff is overstated. Awful Sunday but has had a very solid season so far. LB is a bigger concern. Robertson seems to make at least one error a game now and Tsimikas isn't good enough.

He had a good game, calm down. He wasn't exactly up against prime R9. This constant need for self aggrandizing everything that the players do is tiresome.
I mean in the sense that the players around him weren't good. Konate wasn't fit, TAA was wearing a United shirt and Robertson has struggled for form this season. We lose that game without Van Dijk.

What's all this Ange is saying here. Is that right?someone in here said that it can't be a 2nd yellow because advantage was played which a few people (myself included) thought was wrong and thought a 2nd yellow still could have been shown.

Also does he always try his hardest to be a bellend in interviews.

I hope Spurs hold onto their lead after the next game and go on to win the cup.

A chance for a fellow Aussie to win a trophy and to piss off Arsenal/Newcastle and Liverpool fans. I’ll take that.

Newcastle will beat Spurs.

In fact I fancy Newcastle against Liverpool too

I doubt the 1-0 lead will be enough, but it’s good that Liverpool will have to play their best team in the return game. At some point, some fatigue is bound to set in.

What I predicted when the draw was made and that wasn't taking Spurs injuries into account. The selected 11 by Slot is a clear focus to finish this tie as a contest tonight and they'll be able to rest key players for the 2nd leg.
Well we were both wrong. Liverpool still favourites in 2nd leg, of course.

Well if your going to criticise a decision then this is how it should be done, player and manager both highlighting it was yellow and player should have been sent off, media took absolute piss out of it and now watch fav decision goto liv till end of the season.

Agree, Virgil and Macca were freaking mad the whole game with the decision making of most of their mates, there were moments that if they just calmed down (specially in the final third) Liverpool could have scored, yet they kept making some ridiculosu cross, bad pass, no one wanting to just play one/twos and low down the rythim, a very strange display, maybe too soon after the classic.

He is right, actually. According to the official rules, if advantage is played and "the offence was interfering with or stopping a promising attack, the player is not cautioned". So it was absolutely correct according to the rules not to give a second yellow.

The way I have always interpreted is that if the referee deems it a second yellow, i.e., a sending off, he cannot play an advantage, and should simply stop the game and send the player off. By playing advantage, the ref is effectively saying he doesn’t believe the foul deserved a yellow card.

How do Liverpool manage to collapse every time they drop points against us?
We also drop points when we beat you as well. Won 3-0 earlier in the season, then followed that with a 1-0 loss to Forest. Beat you 7-0, then lost 1-0 at Bournemouth.

Lucas Bergball had two trials at Manchester United. Too bad we could not see his talent good clear enough.
