Edgar Davids

Didn't anyone else hear on Sky Sports News that he wants to come to United?? He said that he looks up to us and would jump at a move to come to us even though we have not made an offer for him yet... Don't know what he's playing at, does he have a contract to sign or anything?? He would be a good signing, but again our midfield is packed, him and Keane in Midfield would make opponents literally shit in their pants. Its a longshot and there would have to be some summer exits for something like this to happen I think.

I want to go to Man Utd too, but like Davids im not good enough.
He only gets attention as a good football player cause he has cool hair and glasses. Whats the betting he was in UEFA's top 50 players above keano

Don't want him even though he's a great player (he was better before). Think our excisting midfielders are better than him anyway... We need a defender and a striker not more midfielders, cause our midfield is our strongest part of the team..

I would love to have seen DAVIDS in a UTD shirt he has pretty much everything and a good fighting spirit aswell, but we have way to many good midfielders in the squad already (not that it showed yesterday) and i would want to see money spent on a un-nessasary player !

Unless sombody from midfield leaves <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

EDGAR DAVIDS has stated his desire to make a move to the Premiership next season and made a plea to champions Manchester United that he wants to play in a Red Devils shirt.
The Dutch international has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, Premiership contenders Arsenal and fellow London giants Chelsea.

The midfield ace is still upset over the drug ban handed to him earlier this season by Italian football officials.

Davids seems ready to make move to England and is finding the lure of Premiership football very appealing.

Davids said: "The thought of playing in England appeals to me.

"I've not had any contact from United but they've always been a club I've admired.

"They have great players and have been very powerful this season.

WHATS HE UP TO??? <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

I hope not, past his best and plus has an awful disciplinary record!

Spot on JOBT ... but even that happen .. I will go for Van Bommel then Davies .....

Ive gotta say I rate Davids as world class, if he was playing for us yesterday do you reckon we'd still have lost? I don't, he was easily the best player at Euro 2000 and if we got him for under say 15 million then thats great business.

His good. The other day, he mastered Viera well, remeinds me of Keane in a way. His only drawback is that he gets way to many suspensions.

PS. I also think Fergie is an admirer of him.

Sorry but our midfield is good enough and crowded enough.

Fix the defence first.

Then the strikers.

Maybe the keeper.

Midfield is last on the priority list.

For a second forget about how crowded our midfield is, and just think about KEANE and DAVIDS in the middle. Imagine Mills, Bowyer and co! Theyd come running off the field with their tails behind their legs! Those little hooligans think they are hard men, but after a match with davids and keane theyd be crying for their mummies! Then we would have O'Leary whining at the end of the match saying how unfair the game was and how his players were not playing their best and that they had injures so that is why they lost.....
That was a little bit of daydreaming but going back to the problem, the only way we should get Davids is if AT LEAST one midfield player leaves. Davids is an awesome player but so are our other midfielders, we dont need him at the moment.

yep.gotta 2nd that. he's a busy wee cnut.

Could Davids play RB? Would he be willing to play in the defense to allow a move to OT? I think Davids would be awesome as a RB, which would allow him some freedom to roam forward. And he could fill in for Veron or Keane at CM when needed. How about this- just sign 2 quality defenders and play Davids (or Keane) in the sweeper role. Maybe I'm on crack.

Barthez
GNeville, Nesta, Silvestre
Davids, Keane
Beckham, Veron, Giggs
RVN, Ole

Let SAF come up with some crazy formation. Maybe United could lure Tigana from Fulham and let SAF groom him for 2005-06.

I'd agree with that. As was said Davids is a busy little terrier, Keane\Davids would be a bossy outfit- the weakness might be a lack of creativity.
Anyway priority- defenders, striker, and maybe a midfielder, but only if we lost one of our present midfielders.

I don't think, but I KNOW Davids would be a great signing for ManUtd. He is the most powerfull midfielder in football today and he is respected bye his college's for his determination and skills! Oh yeah, go Edgar, go OldTrafford....
