Holland midfielder Edgar Davids will go to Old Trafford rather than Highbury if Juventus insist on selling him to a Premiership club.
According to Italian media sources, Juventus are still nurturing ambitions to take Arsenal and France midfielder Patrick Vieira to the Stadio delle Alpi for the start of the new domestic season. What's more, part of the proposed deal includes Edgar Davids travelling in the opposite direction.
Davids is surplus to requirements in Turin but Juve are desperate not to sell him to a rival Serie A club, despite continued interest from Roma manager Fabio Capello.
The Italian champions want to add Davids to a large cash sum in order to acquire Vieira but the Dutch midfield dynamo only wants to play for one English side - Manchester United.
It's claimed that Davids will only accept being sold to the Premiership if he can play for Sir Alex Ferguson's men.
Ex-Milan and Ajax star Davids has a wealth of experience at all levels of the game, having played in the semi-finals of the World Cup and European Championships as well as three Champions League finals.
