Does anyone on here sit in the East Stand Upper tier, or has anyone ever sat up there on a regular basis?

What is the atmosphere like?

Considering moving my ticket this year as the atmosphere where I sit is pretty drab and only really good for the big games and CL nights. Have been offered the chance to move near the front of the upper tier but never personally sat there. Would it be worth the move in people's opinions? I just want a better atmosphere and somewhere to stand and sing (or at least sing)
 
Ask E Stand Eegit, think he sits there.

Just under the scoreboard in the opposite corner to the away fans. Basically, directly below the upper tier of the East Stand.

There is a lad I work with who wants a ticket as well and it'd help me out to have two tickets together but just unsure whether to move away. The grass is not always greener and all that
 
I've sat up there a couple of times - atmosphere's not good. Get yourself to the Stretty (if possible!).
 
I sat there once for a Champions League tie against Valencia. Atmosphere was brutal, but as others have said, the view isn't bad. Judging by your OP, however, this is exactly what you're not looking for!
 
Renewals end on the 14th stretty should be first choice lower east you at least get the chance to take the piss out of the away fans. Unless the fabled singing section takes off that is.
 
Used to sit In E236, view was great but the atmosphere was terrible. If you want to stand up go to East Lower or Stretty, anywhere else you will get told to sit down.
 
Yeah I'm in E236, atmosphere isn't great for most of the time. Doubt there's many areas outside of the SE with much atmosphere.
 
My impressions was that in ET2 you'll be sat down and doing little singing. ET1U you'd be stood for the big game, with more singing (but considerably less than the Stretty), and ET1L is slightly less than upper. Unsure on the latter though. Someone with more experience there (Heap?) should be able to tell you.
 
Well, that answers that then. Not moving there if the atmosphere is no better than where I am now. At least I get to stand for the most part as I am on the second to last row.

Will try and hold out for the Stretty at least!

What do you mean by 'East Stand Upper tier'? Not clear if you mean Tier 1 Upper (Blocks E2xx) or Tier 2 (Blocks E3xx) - sounds like you mean ET2

Im in Tier 1 Upper - right near the away fans. We are stood all match for any big game and I would say it is probably the best place to be in the whole ground for those occasions.
Also manage to stand for part of the game on other occasions but the atmosphere is variable - the view of the action is great though.

Sorry mate. I mean the Upper Tier (or tier two). I sit in yhe E2xx blocks already but think the atmosphere is stale as feck for most games except the big ones - it sounds pretty similar to where you sit but I'm in the opposite corner to the away fans.

We need this singing section to come to fruition!
 
Atmosphere in ST2 is awful. Anywhere else and it's diabolical.

Seriously though, if you want some atmosphere at home games stand with anyone other than United fans.

Seriously though, if you are looking for atmosphere then ST2 is the place to be. I'm still working on that whole "Ultra United" idea, but the Ultra theme seems to have put a few people off. I do have a certain object that may improve things next season though, but we will have to wait and see.

K Stand sounds alright for your 'bigger' games.
 
What are people's opinions on the second tier of the Stretford End then? Better than most places overall? Better than K Stand?

Will I get more of a sing song on a weekly basis than I do in K Stand or will it be the same?

atmosphere is better, view of the match is worse - in fact it is almost a case of the worse the view, the better the atmosphere in general so it all depends on your priorities! You cant see half the stadium at the top of ST2 but you can stand all game and plenty singing

I'm not sure we even want ultras at Old Trafford, it's not our style. The mosaics are bad enough.

Crystal Palace have ultras though for some reason :lol:
