Anyone able to recommend a pair?

Only problem being that the sound has gone in one ear, it has happened before with previous ones too which is why i am looking further afield this time.

A reasonable sized budget.

Check cnet. Apart from Sennheiser and skullcandy I cant remember any brands off the top of my head, but they have reviews of the best heaphones around at the minute.

I have had 4 pairs of those, I love them but they are flawed, all had either 1 or 2 ears go on them

The B&O ones are right up there in terms of sound quality and for actually staying in your ear, what they require though is some kind of strengthening of the wire/connections [i had these for a year-ish this time before they started to go].

what's reasonable, i got a pair of creative gold tinted ones for about 15 quid.

Best i've had, they make a lot of noise when you touch the wire but apart from that the sound is the best i've had. Better than any 20quid Sennheiser ones i've had before.

Sennheiser are brilliant. Personally, I'd always go for them as they sound great, they're robust and reliable. From what I've read, Shure and Monster are also very good.

50 quid budget

Why spend so much on a pair of earphones and then pump crappily compressed MP3s down them through a poor quality mini-amp on something like an iPod? Don't get it, sorry!

But surely if one is willing to spend that kind of money on a pair of earphones then you're gonna make sure the music you download has a decent bitrate.
