Pointless for 10 months or so, but he admitted he was a United fan as a kid.

Duff on Teamtalk:
"It was flattering to be linked with some big clubs. I supported Manchester United as a kid but the priority was to improve myself as a player and as far as I'm concerned the best place to do that is Blackburn. Last season was good and we had a reasonably good year but there is more to come from this team and we have done nothing yet. The fact that Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole are now at Blackburn influenced my decision, he added. They have come from the best club in the world in Manchester United and for me to play alongside them was a big influence on my decision.

kinda contradicting?
he stayed at BB becuz Yorke and Cole came. If he had come to Man Utd he would have the WHOLE Man Utd team. And he would be at the best club in the world in Manchester United.

Not really. By signing Cole and Yorke, Blackburn showed ambition. He's obviously loyal to Blackburn, something we need more of in today's game.

They've decided that Duff is actually overrated now over in KopTalk. They are now apparently glad that refused to pay up...
Fickle bunch...

Warming the bench, I think that's what he is getting at. I read: "I would love to play for Manchester United but right now the best place to develop my game is an ambitious Blackburn and not a club who wants me as handy backup". Fair enough as long as he comes here once that step is taken!
