Drogba - I wish I had hit Vidic

Didier Drogba has claimed he wishes he had punched Nemanja Vidic in the UEFA Champions League final.

The Chelsea striker was dismissed towards the end of extra time after raising his hands towards the Manchester United defender, with the Red Devils going on to triumph in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
Drogba believes he should not have seen red, but claims he would prefer to have acted in a way which would have seen him deserve to be given his marching orders.

The Ivory Coast international said in his autobiography: "I have seen the match on video and I believe I should not have been sent off with three minutes to go.

"If I had punched him, I would have understood. Now I wish I had."

Mistakes

Drogba claims his frustrations boiled over in the closing stages because of his desire for victory and his anger at missing a chance earlier in the match.
He added: "You have a lot of regrets when you go to the final and lose it. I have more regrets about losing the final than being sent off.

"But it wasn't the worst feeling. Hitting the post was. I wasn't feeling well because I was playing alone and against world-class defenders. When you get a chance like that you have to take it.

"Some Chelsea fans blame me for losing. I can take it but I think I gave my best, as I always do, because I want to be No.1. Sometimes I want that too much.

"I apologised to my friends. People can make mistakes."

:lol::lol:F*cking Sore looser :lol::lol:

I wish he had punched him too, would have been great to see Vidic devour the cnut in retaliation.

Yeah right ,would of been nice to seen him rolling around on the floor after injuring himself after hitting Vidic ,everyone in Britain knows hes a big soft cnut

Pls change the thread's name in Drogba wanted to commit suicide

Has he taken the defeat that badly that he wishes he had died that day?

I wish he had as well, that was one of the rare moments I'd seen Nemanja so worked up, and it was just a pussy slap as well.

I can't wait until we play the renties in January. Drogba up against Vidic!

I wouldn't like to be Drogba.

He thinks he is funny but he just ends up looking like a twat

Vidic acts tough but there were sometimes he acted like a real pussy. With Drogba's physical stature ,in a fight 1V1 ,nothing guarantees that Vida would win

Think Drogba would have won that one. His combination of speed and power would be too much for Vidic's brute strength.

I remeber just after he slapped him, there was a look in Vidics eyes for a split second that were murder.

Drogba is a very lucky man

I don't really understand people playing up any football player as some sort of hardman. Physically footballers are small and unimpressive and even the taller guys are still pretty much stick figures. Vidic can take a knock and keep ticking, that doesn't make him a badass, it just means everyone else is a fairy for writhing around like they need an immediate amputation.

It's admirable that he has the integrity to not flail around and that is it, admirable.

Probably wise he didn't...no doubt Blatter would have seen to it that UEFA expelled English clubs out of Europe for an all-out on-pitch brawl, stripping United of the title and awarding to Barcelona, coincidentally of Spain.

I understand what you mean. If you ask me though someone who is as no-nonsense as Vidic is would be difficult to put down because those sort of people don't care what happens to them. you see the guy going in head first against studs.

It will be interesting the next time these two play. If Drogba once again gets dominated then I think it will go down as one of the most dominant displays of a defender owning a striker. considering its already happened 4 times.
