Dr. Who Is Fooking Shite

I didn't really see the point of bringing it back just for it to basically be a self parody. Although I've not watched it in a while so maybe it's changed.

It's not just London. Sometimes they're in Cardiff.

It is pretty shit, though. Here's an exclusive extract of next week's episode:

Doctor exits TARDIS...Hmm, looks like 21st Century London...run around for a bit...smug dialogue...cultural reference...run around again...SHIT! an alien!!!...quick behind the couch!!!...smug dialogue...celebrity guest actor appears!!!(this week it's Sandy Toksvig!!!)...the doctor explains the plot to his assistant!!!...run about a bit down a corridor!!!...SHIT HITS THE FAN!!!! OH NO!!...run back down the same corridor quickly!!!...timer counting down to zero!!!...the doctor uses sonic screwdriver (again)...the world is saved!!!!...blah blah de fecking blah...
 
Bring back Tom Baker or resurrect Jon Pertwee.

This new guy ain't even in the same league as those two.
 
I like it in terms of that fact its the only TV program my kids will sit down and watch which I can watch with them. Honestly, they love it, and I don't really question the weak plots, unbelievable concepts, poor scientific explanation etc because at the end of the day its a kids show and you have to suspend your disbelief.

If I wanted something which I could value more myself I'd watch a more adult oriented sci-fi show without the kids.

Helps that there are fit birds on quite often

Do you actually get to see Cardiff, or do they just say it's Cardiff? That said, it's a Cardiff production, I think. London, though, you'd think is not only the only city in England, but the centre of the Universe, according to Dr Who. I loved the old ones, especially when Tom Baker was the doctor. It had more edge to it. . .and didn't concentrate on London, in fact, I don't think they based many episodes in the UK, always some far off planet in some crazy distant galaxy. This current one is just mainstream family TV.
 
His sonic screwdriver thing pisses me off. One minute its unlocking doors, the next it is cutting through steel or magically repairing the engine of his TARDIS. How the feck does it know what to do? There only seems to be one button on it. It's a convenient outlet for unimaginative writers. Although to be fair i never used to watch the old doctor who's so I have no idea if this was also the case in the original series
 
It's a kid's show, of course you guys don't think much of it.

Saying that, some of the episodes are suddenly and unexpectedly really good. The angels one was great, as was the Satan one. And the most recent one about the "library", whilst still a bit childish, was actually fairly decent.

But, yeh, most of them are a bit shite, but that's because it's a kid's show. Don't watch it expecting excellent action-oriented sci-fi drama.
 
Prefer it to Torchwood, that's far worse and seeing as it supposedly set in the same universe makes no sense at all. With all the alien invasions that have been in DR Who whats the point of having a SECRET organisation.
 
The guy from Torchwood really annoys me. Also I can't work out if I'm allowed to be attracted to that woman in it, or not.
 
I'd rather re-watch the 2007 CL Sem-Final between Chelsea & Liverpool for the rest of my life than watch on episode of this drivel.
