No Download limits, 10 bucks a month......

Still have an RS account to download maybe those few things that I might not find a HF link for, but I have now switched over to Hotfile...

Have noticed its much easier to even get HF links nowadays than RS, which was really the only reason that I was holding back switching over to HF..

Anyone else here?

Or have most of you stuck with RS?

I'm with Rapidshare but as you say links are getting harder and harder to get. Something to do with their pricing changes I suppose. $10 per month is about double what I paid for Rapidshare but I guess I'll end up swapping to something else.

Whenever I've tried Hotfile I get max speeds of around 5kb/s. Plus I've seen people saying they've got the same speeds even when they have bought premium. Doesn't really make me want to use them much :nervous:

I guess if you get good speeds then it's good for you since there's lots of links for them nowadays.

5 KBPS? wtf?

you sure you guys are using the right Download accelerators etc?

I am getting the exact same speeds with Hotfile, that I used to and still do with rapidshare..

i.e 1.2/1.3 MBPS download speeds on a 10 MBPS line which is basically the maximum I can get..

I get my files off random filehosting sites, mostly MegaUpload. Usually get 1.5mb/s as a free user. What speeds would you get?

I didn't know I had to use any accelerators :p

When I've tried them I just downloaded in my browser like I always have.

I usually get up to 7-800kb/s per file. I usually download 3 or 4 files at a time which reduces the individual file speed but usually tops out my connection at 1700kb/s or so.

That's the problem with free users. One file at a time

Meh I'm patient

Seems like slow dowload speeds is a common problem with hotfile and they can't or won't do anything about it. I'll be avoiding them.

Anyone else use any other service apart from Hotfile and Rapidshare?

I'll stick with rapidshare for now. Although you don't get as many rapishare links as you used to you can usually find a rapidshare link on filestube once you know the file name.

is there a way you can just browse files like you can with torrent sites?

Why would you want to browse when you can find what you want on most warez forums using the search function?

course you can browse forums too for the latest tv shows, movies etc..?

And really strange hearing about download speed problems with Hotfile? maybe its just a UK thing, but Ive so far been maxing out and downloading at 1.2 MBPS with hotfile without any problems..

Course I use a download accelerator, but I have been doing so since the last 6 years..

Google is still the best rapidshare search engine, everything can be found using specific google string searches.

Hotfile is fast but only after 12 oclock it seems. I bought it because most links on warez/rslog are vying away from RS. Hotfile is painfully slow though before 12 (GMT).

What do ye get off these sites?

You can get a lot of things. I personally don't use it for anything illegal though, so while I'm sure you can find warez, movies, tv episodes, ISO games, appz, pr0n and music of all sorts, I've never downloaded such things.

RS will survive for another couple of years. There are enough uploaders who will use it just out of habit and because they want to maintain their status as quality providers within the warez scene. As it is, the trend these days is the best providers upload to multiple hosts. This helps those FREE users and also spreads out the chances any one download will get binned when one of the files of an archive is reported.

If I was going to buy a premium account, i'd go with fileserv or megaupload.

hotfile isn't bad, but FS and MU seem to payout more to the uploaders so i have a feeling those two will gain the users that RS lost by stopping their reward system.

just use free megaupload and torrents for over 1gb stuff.

in google put "site:megaupload.com" followed by what you want, s01e01 is the code for tv show specific episodes. change the 1's to what you are looking for obviously.

I use JDownloader and no premium accounts. I can wait for the download to complete really.

For future reference, the "direct download is safer than torrent" download is correct but doesn't cover the whole "direct download still isn't safe" angle. Plus direct download sites have bank accounts tied to them.

Some people..

I'm trying to download a 60mb file from Hotfile, it's on 80 bytes a second and will complete in '1 day, 14 hours'! Ridiculous; my internet connection is fine. Wank wank wank.

I jumped ship aswell last month....but my rs account wont be expiring for some years.
