From the City-Everton match yesterday, he seems like decent player with potential. Playing in front of Rooney will probably allow him to learn a lot. Pacey, strong, and seemed to relish a challenge.

With it being a World Cup year, he probably should be selected ahead of typical picks like Walcott for the tournament if he continues to play well.

He's extremely raw and it's hard to tell how good he may become. I imagine over the course of the season he'll be in and out of the team.

Could be huge for him if Everton don't end up signing a proper number 9. Still, it'll take more than working than channels and holding the ball up for one game - though he did it fantastically against City.

So many young players nowadays have double-barrelled surnames.

Back in my day that was for posh people only. I don't like it, where does it end? If Calvert-Lewin marries Loftus-Cheek, what's their adopted kid called?

Tom Huddlestone.

Seems like a 90s baby thing

Used to be a sign of good breeding.

Never seen the lad play, or heard of him until this post but I'll take a guess he's black right?

The next Danny Cadamarteri.

Nah, never seen him play until last night, looked good.

Reminds me a bit of Harry Kane bar the goals. The way his body is hunched, height, chasing down a lot, determination. He's obviously a hard worker and reads the game well, maybe if he practices with his shooting could be a good striker. I can see him getting a lot of game time this season and maybe around 10goals.

Rashford is still only 19.

Kane, Rashford, Austin, Vardy, Rooney, Sturridge, Welbeck, Defoe, Berahino, Deeney etc. There's plenty of competition already for places upfront. He can't just get a place on merit, if he has a decent season he should get in.

No one with a double-barrel name will ever achieve greatness. Their names simply lack the required gravitas.

Finney, Matthews, Edwards, Moore... "Calvert-Lewin"??

Lad never had a chance.

Only watched the second half but he was horrific. Gave the ball away every time he got it

This

Wright-Phillips, Borthwick-Jackson, Reo-Coker, Taylor-Fletcher, Emmanuel-Thomas, Robson-Kanu...

He was good in the first half, he got a good assist and caused City's high line a problem with some intelligent runs.

No reason not to change him, especially since he was the only pacey element in Evertons game in a counter-attacking set up. They desperately needed fresh legs there.

I don't disagree. There was only Merillas on the bench who could do that.

DCL has made an interesting start to the season, also got the assist in Everton's 1-0 win. Need to see more of him yet though.

Hope he plays every week, I went with him as a ST sub in FPL. TBF kid is talented.

Thought he played well for Everton. Can see him getting a lot of game time out wide as well as against City I felt the players behind him lacked pace.

I thought he done quite well.. his hold up play dare I say it didn't look any worse than Rashfords

He's ok. Bit unlucky that he's emerging in a time where England actually have plenty of decent forwards. But he's not top class for me. Davies will have a better England career I expect.

Iv not seen much of him admittedly - but from what I have seen & the way he plays; I feel like he could possibly be quite good playing a bit deeper. I don't think he is ST through & through.

Rashford is levels better than him especially considering they are roughly the same age too

I don't really rate him if I'm honest. Think if you crammed all the good stuff he does in a game into 25-30 minutes he'd be a quality young player. The problem is that over a 90 he's just not doing enough.

Not all players develop at the same rate. Plenty of top strikers develop slowly and score few goals at the age of 20.

He is average. He runs around. That’s all. Even Everton fans wanted him in the team only because the alternative is shite like Sandro.

its good enough to respond to your comment in fairness

I disagree with your assertion. He is a work in progress no question but at times he shows a very high skill level, like his backheal assist for Siguardson yesterday.

As per my original post I think he is having a good season for a 20 year old, considering the circumstances.

He has 3 goals and 4 assists in league and Europe put together playing almost 1600 minutes mostly as a forward. Nothing exceptional. He has 3 in league cup 2 against a championship side Sunderland. He is a decent lower level player, but nothing more. Put James Wilson in his place at Everton and he might score the same amount.

Btw I know I sounded like a prick earlier but meant no offense. Sorry if you felt that way. Cheers :)
